Q: Is there a term used to define the group of most likely to ...., etc. in a yearbook? What is it?
yes! sorry i'm so late. they're called "superlatives"

Q: What do Americans speak? I know that people from England speak English but I've always called what I spoke English. I'm in the United States though, not from England so I'm not English. Am I still considered to be English-speaking or is it referred to as something else? I'm confused
Technically, most Americans speak English, but I like to say that we speak American, because it's so different from the language spoken in England.

Q: Hey im 18/f my mom had me when she was 16 and my biological father gave away his rights. Then she met my adopted father bryan. he is my 2 sisters real dad. But he adopted me when i was like 2. They got divorced and he could have not seen me anymore and whatnot but he chose to. He is basically my dad and i dont think of him any different. I want to create something to show how much i love him. Is there any songs that you can think of that somewhat relate. I really like brad paisleys song he didnt have to be. Are there any other songs like that out there?

Thanks

Q: Everyone seems to have a problem with age I dont see why its just the some person being born a different time. What do you think?
I think the older you get, the less age matters. This summer I worked at a camp with counselors aged 16 to 21, and it honestly felt like we were all the same age. When you're outside of that structured school system, it's easier to be with people who are older or younger than you.

Also, I know for a fact that I don't usually act my age. I tend to act like a little kid, and the people I like tend to be younger than me. At first I was uncomfortable with it, but I figure, if I get along better with them, then why not? A year or two doesn't make a huge difference.

Q: so there was this party the other night. my girlfriend went with her friends but i couldnt because i was working. there were kids from other schools there too. well the way i heard it was that this one dude was messing with my girl all night. flirting with her and stuff and that about halfway into the party he grabbed her ass. she slapped his hand away and i guess he flipped out. he pushed her over and kicked her. i want to kill him. shes got this huge nasty bruise and she scraped up her arm and hand when he pushed her onto the pavement. i dont think ive ever been this furious. i feel guilty too that if i had been there to protect her, it wouldnt have happened. i know who he is because ive played him in football, and i want to kick his ass. it would upset my girlfriend who told me that i shoudl just leave it alone. but at this point i would rather kill this kid and have her be pissed at me then just sit around and let him get away with it. im thinking about just doing it and not telling her. he should have the balls to not go crying to anyone about it right> might not be a good idea though... what do you guys think?
Firstly, try not to feel guilty. I know it's kind of unavoidable, but it was in no way your fault. You had no way of knowing that such an obnoxious creep would be at the party, literally hitting on your girlfriend.

Secondly: don't kill him. Maybe just let him know how furious you are with words rather than actually physically hurting him; you don't want to get in trouble. Your girlfriend would probably prefer that, too.

Thirdly: way to be chivalrous (:

Q: i am obsessed with twilight and its kind of awesome but i like it so much it drives me nuts because i want to be the people in the book! its just so darn romantic, and its the first romantic book iv'e read. i used to be obsessed with it a long time ago and i would cry because i wanted their life and romance and blah blah blah. this time its not that bad but i hate that it's not real. what can i do? i dont want to get over it but i do? *NOTE: i am only 13.
I know exactly how you feel, I went through the same thing with Harry Potter. I know it's obnoxiously vague, but you just need to forget about it - get into the real world and busy yourself with something else. "Busy" is the key word there; as soon as you stop doing something, it will all come back to you, but if you minimize your free time, it will all fade away eventually. Good luck!

Q: Why is it that this is turning into a site for just teenagers? All they know about is boys, and sex, and makeup, and periods, and discharge, and tampons, etc. Why aren't there more sensible people here?
I am a teenager, and I know a great deal more than boys, sex, makeup, periods, discharge, and tampons. It's just that this site makes it easy to ask those kinds of questions, and those questions come up a lot. Asking about them doesn't make us insensible in any way.

If you don't like the website, either try to change it or leave. Complaining does nothing (except irritate everyone else.)

Q: i'm 18 years old and i have a lisp, not the kind you usually hear but the kind when you talk and sh and ch sound different, and people always make fun of me. i've never had a boyfriend and i think that it's horrible, i always feel like i want to die because no guys like me. i don't think i'm ugly lots of people tell me i'm pretty some even say i'm beautiful and i do have some very good friends. but why don't guys like me?? i just don't know what is wrong with me besides my lisp.
First of all, I doubt that "no guys" like you. If you're anything like me, however, you'll dismiss that statement by telling yourself "She has no idea." So, instead, I'll give you advice based on the fact that no one does like you, even though it's probably not true.

Eighteen years old and never had a boyfriend does not mean failure. It may seem like everyone your age has someone, but it isn't true. I myself am 17, and have plenty of friends that have never had significant others. And most of the friends that have had boyfriends are no longer dating them, which tells me that having a boyfriend isn't life-changing: we will all meet that person eventually.

Being single does not mean there's something wrong with you, and as soon as you truly believe that you can move on to bigger and better things. Instead of dwelling on your flaws, you'll be able to ignore them and just enjoy yourself. And who knows, maybe while you're having fun someone special will find you. After all, they say confidence is the key..

Q: I wanna know everyones' opinions on age differences in relationships. Mind you, this is out of total curiosity, as a friend of mine and I were discussing this the other day. So I just want to know what you think, like, how big of a difference is too much, and what not.
The older you get, the less the gap matters.

Q: whats the extra scene in the new harry potter movie? i dont know what people are talking about

also

did the scene where he saw the "pretty girl" happen in the book? i dont remember
I don't know about that extra scene, but the very first scene with the waitress at the coffee place was definitely not from the book.

Q: so im 16 and i still wear pads...is that normal? i mean is there a certain age for girls when your suppose to start wearing tampons?are their some girls who never wear tampons?does it become unhealthy to wear pads after a certain period of time?and is it true that you can still go swimming on your period as long as you wear a tampon??thanx
I'm 17 and I still only use pads. I've been lucky; my period has never really interfered with a swimming event, so I've had no real need for tampons.

Q: I just bought a micro SD card 4GB. and my card reader isn't reading it. No removable disk E shows up.
No CDs came with it.
What should I do?
I know that at my school, the card readers won't read 4GBs. I don't know why, it's a technical thing, maybe the 4GB cards were after their time.

What are you using the SD card for? If you're using the SD card for pictures, I would put the card back into the camera and use the USB cord that came with it. Good luck!

Q: The news was saying that some Romaine lettuce was recalled recently. Well, I had JUST bought a bag of it (Romaine lettuce) like the day before yesterday from the supermarket so I could have salads. I'm nervous because I don't want to get salmonella and be sick...I get sick really easily. Should I throw the lettuce away or is it safe to eat? If I wash the lettuce really good, will it be safe? Should I take it back to the store I purchased it from? I'm just not sure what to do...
It depends on which brand was recalled. If it was the same brand as the one you bought, you could either throw it out or try to return/exchange it (I'm not sure how that works), but I would definitely NOT eat it. Even if you wash it "really good," chances are that you won't rinse away the germs.

Q: Having an abdominal pain and a white discharge water like kind of dischrge and sore breast, could it be a sign of anything.
I get similar symptoms when I'm about to get my period, but if that's unusual for you then you should get it checked out.

Q: Just wondering if you would hire a babysitter from my website (all of the sitters are my friends; I know them personally, so they're reputable and responsible and they all have lots of experience).

Is there anything I should change on it?

It's at http://www.flowersitters.com

We charge around $7.00 per hour - is that too much?

Thanks!
Minimum wage where I live is $8 an hour, so I'd say $7 is fine. Personally, I would never hire a babysitter online, and I would want someone older than 16, but your website is professional enough that if I ever wanted an online 15-year-old babysitter, I would use your site.

Q: Im going to college and I need a quilt/blanket to go at the end of my bed. I have a hot pink comforter so it would need to match that. I love polka dots (but it doesnt have to be polka dotted).

Does anyone know where I can find one? I've looked at all the obvious places (bed bath and beyond, pottery barn teen, amazon, overstock etc.)

THanks so much!!
Target has everything, you could check there!

Q: Okay, i know that my sheets have to be XL twin but does the comforter have to be as well?

And also, what are some great places and sites that you've all found youre college bedding. I've looked on most sites but nothing has caught my eye yet so i'm still looking and need help!
They had some nice sheet sets at Joann's Fabrics.

Q: how do you roast/melt marshmellows at home

multiple suggestions are needed :)

thankyou
I either use the fireplace (which is pretty self-explanatory) or the microwave. If you're microwaving the marshmallows, put them on a plate and KEEP AN EYE ON THEM. They get absolutely ginormous! (Once you take them out, they shrivel up a bit, but it's still cool!) I'd say ten seconds should do the trick. You can even put an entire smore in the microwave, it makes the chocolate nice and melty.

Q: Okay, well I wasn't really sure where to put this but uh here goes. So I'm 13/F and he was 14/M. He is an awesome friend but he's always been a perv. Anyway, he took it too far this time and I flipped out. We were walking in a group and some other guys that we were with were making fun of him about how he "can't get a girl" and he says "I can get any girl I want!" so he grabs me, pins me against a wall, and sticks his hand down my pants. I freaked and kicked him in the balls... He looked like he was in severe pain. I almost felt bad but not really cuz what did he expect? But now he's super pissed at me. I don't think he has a right! Does anyone else think I was out of line?
Not at all. He deserved it. No one should be sticking their hands down your pants without permission, especially in public to prove a point. (And a lame point at that.)

Q: So, I'm thinking about some ideas for creating my own social website. I need opinions though based on other websites similar to my idea and was hoping that some people here could help me out so I don't have to sign up for the ones I don't use and become active on ones I no longer use.

Question of the day is:

What do you and don't you like about Facebook?
What can be improved on Facebook? How can Facebook improve that specific flaw (or, alternatively, can it NOT be improved for certain reasons) in your opinion?

Official Facebook users only please!

Thank you so much, Advicenators! :D

I love facebook because I can upload all my pictures entirely for free. Sketchily enough, I like getting random updates about random people I know. And I like keeping in touch with everyone. I like the bar at the bottom of the screen, which makes for a sort of visual favorites page. I like the notification system and the completely private inbox. I especially like how clean and official it looks, with everyone having the same, simple layout and using their real names instead of witty phrases.

I don't like the quizzes and certain obnoxious applications, like the Vampires vs. Werewolves craze awhile back, and the What Color Are You? shenanigans that's finally beginning to fade away. The chain-notes are less annoying because the results are actually fun to look at, and I don't get constant notifications about them. Applications I do like include Honesty Box and Bumper Sticker, although the latter can get both addicting and spam-like. I would like some sort of audio, where you could add a song to your profile without it automatically playing when people visit your profile.

I don't like the new layout, where I can't tell the difference between wall posts and status updates. I want birthdays up at the top of the homepage again. And I don't like facebook chat, because it slows down my computer; I think this is more of a personal problem than a problem with facebook chat itself.
