when cooking instant noodles, why does it matter if you wait until the water is boiling to add both the flavoring and noodles in?

Because if you add them all together the heating water will partially cook the noodles before it bolis, causing the noodles to be mushy and overcooked on the outside and cooked normally on the inside.

My theory is that they turn out better if you wait till the water is boiling... plus they will be more 'instantanious' if added to already boiling water... I like to save the flavouring and add it at the end after most of the water is drained. Makes the noodles more flavoursome.
Did that make sense?? ]
After boiling it on the stove, I drain out the water...then, I mix butter into the noodles and pour the seasoning on top...stir and enjoy! =) ]
I always put regular tap water in and microwave it (2 min), it still tastes as good as it would if you waited for the water to boil. ]
It doesn't matter, like it won't blow up if you add the noodles and the seasoning together. But it can slow down how quickly it boils if you add the seasonings first, because salt water has a higher boiling point. Plus, if the seasoning cooks into the noodles it's a slightly different taste. ]
They aren't really going to taste their best if the water isn't boiling - it also helps the flavour to reach all the noodles. ]
Many direction packages that are "Instant" will tell you to wait until the water is boiled to make sure it's fully cooked. I just wait until my noodles are tender and just add the flavoring to it. :)
