How do you get songs on your iPod for free?

Question Posted Sunday December 28 2008, 3:59 pm

I just got an iPod, and I'm realizing how much it costs to buy songs. It's so expensive, so I'm wondering, does everyone buy there songs like this and pay full price for each song? Everyone has so many songs but I don't see how because they're so expensive. I'm not looking for a way around this, I just want to know if the majority of people actually do it this way.

You plug your ipod into a computer and then itunes should.come up. Go into an internet tab and then search " youtube to mp3 converter. Open a second internet tab.and go to youtube. From here, type in whatever song you want amd then copy and paste the url into the mp3 converter and click on convert. It willthen put it into your itunes file and then you can sync your ipod and have the songs ontherefor free

The vast majority of people download some or all of their music illegally.

Some studies have said as much as 95% of the music downloads on the planet are from pirated (illegal) sources but that is tough to support. More reputable studies put it closer to 65-70% - and the weirdest fact of all is that many people who download some tracks for free - will also pay for others. Very few people get their music solely from legal, or illegal sources. Most people use both.

Usually, I send songs to my friends via AIM and have them send me some of their songs.

Or I buy some good songs and then have another friend buy some other songs we both want, burn them onto a CD and have my friend do the same, then swap.

Here's normally what I do.

If a friend has a CD I want, I ask to borrow it, or I have them send it to me over the internet.

If I want a specific song, I use FrostWire. Which is NOT illegal. It's only illegal if you share your music.

www.frostwire.com

Less viruses than LimeWire.

Other than that, I just use Zamzar to get videos off of YouTube.

In my entire life, I've bought 2 CDs: The Rocket Summer and Relient K.

You're right. I would say most people probably download their music illegally with programs such as Limewire, Frostwire, and Bearshare.

No, a lot of people borrow albums from their friends and get the mp3 files into their iTunes or they pirate their music outright, either through P2P networks or torrents.
