i really wanna put some blue in my hair. not the whole head, just like, underneath so it'll show when its up in a ponytail and when i straighten my hair. but my parents INSIST that i cant. how can i convince them to let me due my hairr???
HEELPP!
When I wanted to dye my hair blue (as in, my whole head xD) my mom of course said no. It took some convincing, and she finally allowed me to. So now I have blue hair.
These things should help, they worked for me:
1)You will pay for it.
2)Mention to them about how it's just hair. It's not like you're getting a permanent tattoo or piercing.
3)Bring up the fact that if you just happen to not like it, it's YOUR hair and to let you learn from your mistakes.
4)Ask them when they're in a good mood.
5)Tell them the dye you will use is semi-permanent, and will eventually fade more and more with each wash.
6)Talk to them like an adult.
If they say no, calmly ask why. Don't be like "BUT MOM WHY?! YOU NEVER LET ME DO ANYTHING!" and then storm off.
They'll think you're too immature and for sure won't let you dye your hair.
So be calm, and mature about the entire thing.
And don't tell them, "But everyone else is doing it!"
Usually parents always say no to that.
Always.

I agree with Laugh Out Loud x0x, youshouldnt whine about it... tell them why you want it and don't just say because everyone else does. Explain that you;re old and mature enough to dye your hair and have considered the consequences (I dont know what the consequences would be but it makes you sound mature haha)
xoxobridgettexoxo answered Wednesday July 2 2008, 4:49 pm: well i went throught the exact same thiong last summer but with the color pink lol.
all you have to do is do as they say, tell them why you want it,and i had the women who did my hair just talk to my mom about it.also if they allow you and you wanna do it at home or have someone do it i suggest manic panic.thats what i used they have a website and have many colors.also if you dnt like it it will eventually wash out and is only like $7 per tub and its really worth it [ xoxobridgettexoxo's advice column | Ask xoxobridgettexoxo A Question ]
LOL_x0x answered Wednesday July 2 2008, 11:47 am: You have to be mature about it. Don't whine and cry and act like you're 6.
Then, sit them down and explain to them WHY you want to put color in your hair. Also, have you told them you want it underneath your hair? I'd emphasize that, and tell them you don't want to do your whole head.
If they still say no, CALMLY [remember, act mature] ask them why they don't want you to.
I also like LM's idea about maybe settling for a different color. See if they will let you do that, and if not, jsut respect their decision.
TahTahTorance answered Tuesday July 1 2008, 11:53 pm: Maybe start with something not so drastic. Like blonde on top and dark brown or black underneath. When they see it's not as bad as they think they might realize the blue wouldn't be so bad! [ TahTahTorance's advice column | Ask TahTahTorance A Question ]
Lovetornado answered Tuesday July 1 2008, 11:29 pm: hmm well there is hair dye that comes out in so many weeks/washes. and it works nice, it lasts long enough and its cheap. and it can be worn out if you decide you dont like it. [ Lovetornado's advice column | Ask Lovetornado A Question ]
LM answered Tuesday July 1 2008, 11:15 pm: Do what they ask of you, without complaint. Show maturity. Be reasonable. Ask again in a few weeks and ask specifically why you can't.
Possible "arguments" [but in a civil tone or you'll get nowhere]
- It's just hair, and will grow out.
- I can use temporary dye first, to see how it looks.
- Would another color be okay? [BRIGHT Red is a good alternative, because its closer to a natural hair color]
- It's underneath and can be hidden for 'proper' events.
