do you wash off the toothpaste after a period of time? (link)
|
I'm assuming you're talking about putting a dab of toothpaste on the zit.
You put the dab on at night and sleep with it, and then you wash it off in the morning.

is it normal to sleep with your mom at 23 years old in a situation like this ? (link)
|
In a situation like this? I don't think it's abnormal at all. You're just afraid to be alone, which is totally understandable, I think most people would be. But you should definitely seek out counseling because that could help you a lot.

my name is Rachel and i am 23 year old female and on Saturday there was a shooting in front of my house and ever since i have not been able to sleep and when I do go to sleep I have night mares about the shooting because they still have not found the killer and he looked at me before he ran off and my 2 niece's and my nephew was outside on the porch with me when it happened they saw it to. I also wake up in the middle of the night screaming. I am afraid that he is going to come back and kill me and my niece's and nephew because we saw him shoot the guy and my nieces are only 11 years old and my nephew is only 9 years old we are all scared to even go outside during the die every where i turn i am paranoid because i am scared and afraid for my life. I am never home anymore because i am scared to go home especially at night when i am home i sleep with my mom because i am scared if i am by myself i will next even writing about it scares me. Is this PTSD? how do I get over my fears? please help me. I want to be able to live a normal life. (link)
|
I am not a psychologist or a psychiatrist so I can't diagnose you here, but I do have PTSD. You should go see a psychiatrist so you can be properly diagnosed and get the right help.
To help calm you at night is to maybe try out some relaxation techniques. Google has some helpful ones.
Also, think about how likely it is that this will happen again. Remind yourself you have a phone so if any of this happened again you could call 911 easily. Also remind yourself that you don't live there alone, you have your mom there.
Remind yourself that he probably won't come back there because he knows it's a populated area. In all honesty, it might have been gang related or a domestic dispute or something along those lines. I really doubt it was just a random shooting.
But like I said, I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist, and I strongly suggest you see one.
If you ever need to talk to anyone or have any other questions, message me!

I'm 21 years old and have pretty large breasts (36DD). I got new bras over the summer but have recently lost some weight so I think they're significantly smaller now, the bras may even be big on me. I've always had an issue with my boobs being kind of saggy and matronly-looking. I don't mind being big in the chest I just don't want them to make me look chunky. What can I do to raise them a little? I already have pretty good posture. The bras I have now are minimizer bras, are these not very flattering types of bras? Should I do chest presses? Where can I go to get a bra fitting? My mom took me for a bra fitting a few years ago to some random place and the woman was sooooo obnoxious and pushy and all up in my shit. Is there maybe a nice department store where they have a fitting service or something? Should I find push-up bras? Btw, Victoria's Secret doesn't fit me ever (link)
|
Victoria's Secret is never that great, I've found. I am a bigger busted woman as well (36F) and I have always had such an issue finding bras that fit well and LASTED and were actually attractive! It's like anyone with bigger breasts is 70 years old and wants an ugly beige bra that's just huge.
Anyway, about a year ago I went to Nordstrom and got a bra fitting and bought four new bras. I had a WONDERFUL experience, they were very helpful and didn't mind letting me try on alllllll the different styles of bras. They can be a little pricey because it's Nordstrom, but it is worth the price. I haven't had to buy a new bra at all since the fitting, all the bras I got there are still in wonderful shape!

I was wondering if there are any advice givers out there who have good food experience from both Europe and US?
I see quite a lot of nice recipes online, but problems approach when "ranch dressing" is required. Or powder for ranch dressing.
First of all, I have no idea what ranch dressing might taste like. But regardless, I would like to know if any of you discovered something in Europe that tastes like ranch dressing? Or is there a simple way to whip it up yourself?
I can guarantee you that out of 10 or so European Countries I've been to and lived in, I've never come across ranch dressing...
Any answers would be much appreciated! (link)
|
Hmmm, I don't believe they have actual ranch dressing in Europe.
But I did find some easy recipes:
The first one)Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
1-2 cups sour cream
1-2 cups real mayo (not Miracle Whip)
1/2 -1 cup milk (depending on how thick you want it)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder or freshly chopped green onions
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp parsley flakes, dried or fresh
1/2 tsp dill, dried or fresh
Preparation:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl.
2. Pour the finished dressing into a jar or container and refrigerate.
Here is another one that seems to have good reviews)
1 cup of mayo
1/2 cup of sour cream or buttermilk (whichever you prefer)
1/2 teaspoon dried chives
1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon of dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream (or buttermilk), chives, parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
Hope these help!

If you dip dye blonde hair with koolaid and let it sit for 6 hours, how long does it stay in for? (link)
|
Honestly kool-aid doesn't dye hair very well. It will wash out/fade VERY quickly.
If you really want to dipdye your hair, I suggest you use an actual hair dye.
If you want it to last long, I suggest you check out the brand Special Effects, it's wonderful. And it's vegan, so it will NOT damage your hair at all!
Other brands that don't last as long & are good if you want it to fade relatively quickly: punky color, splat, and manic panic (also vegan.)

I don't care about e pain...I deserve it but how can I do it so no one will know (link)
|
Nobody deserves this. I'm telling you, DON'T KILL YOURSELF. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Whatever is going on in your life that you feel is so horrible that you can't live anymore, it will get better. It will change. You can get through this.
You should seek help through a counselor and talk about what's going on. Trust me, you have so much to live for. I don't know you personally, but I guarantee that's true. You will get through this.

hi im 14 and im physically a female but i want to be a male i like the clothes and everything with it in school i act and sometimes talk like a boy. my best friend when we are out of school refers to me as a boy
i need help i really do think im transgender???????????????
and how do i tell my parents?? (link)
|
How long have you felt like this? I have a few transgender friends, and I am apart of the LGBT community so I can somewhat understand what you're going through. Have you always felt like you're a male just trapped in a female body? Many people who identify as transgender say that they've known since they were little kids.
The first step is to admit to yourself that you're transgender, if you really believe that you truly are, and accept it. Because it's okay. There is nothing wrong with that.
The next step is to tell your parents WHEN YOU ARE READY. Don't feel like you HAVE to tell them just yet, tell them when you're ready. You should just sit them down and speak from your heart. Tell them exactly how you feel and what is going on your head. They probably won't understand exactly, because they aren't transgender (I'm assuming.) so you have to do your best to explain to them. They may be shocked at first, and they may possibly get upset and I guarantee they'll be very emotional. You need to give them time though. I'm sure your parents love you more than anything, and they will come around. They just need to let it set in.
If you ever need support, you should check out dailystrength.org because they have an online support group for people who are transgender. The community on there is wonderful, everyone is incredibly supportive and they don't judge whatsoever.
Also, if you ever need to talk, you can message me on here. :)
I wish the best for you!

I'd like to order a make up brush set from Amazon, no more than 20 pounds. Does anybody have any recommendations for good quality brushes? :) (that can be found on Amazon...) (link)
|
Sephora has some pretty decent brushes in your price range. They sell them by sets on amazon. Just look up "sephora brush set" and narrow it down from there. Some are over 20 pounds, but some are under that or that price exactly. :)

I have a lot of spare time, now that I'm done with sports and athletics. My friends say I'm pretty, so i'm considering looking for a modeling job? preferably just photography model, I do not want to be an actress or anything. I'm just lost on how to become one. I've done some thinking about this and this is my plan so far..
-get a photoshoot done at a photography place (just like people do for Senior Pictures in high school).
-send those pictures to modeling agencies nearby and see what they say.
But my problem is.. I have no modeling experience. So i'm trying to find newer agencies that will accept new models. Does anyone have any tips or advice?
Also, if I can't find any good modeling agencies online, what do you think about looking on craigslist? I am kinda scared because what if its not a real agency and its just some perv trying to rape someone haha. How can I trust if an agency is real or not? I don't really want to go alone, but I have no one to bring with me..
help! (link)

If you're thinking about trying to become high fashion runway, that probably wouldn't be the best idea. First off you have to be incredibly tall and incredibly skinny, and by age 20 it's usually considered "old" for high fashion runway models.
But that doesn't mean modeling is out of the picture for you. Commercial modeling sounds like it'd be good for you. And by commercial I don't mean doing commercials...I just mean more typical average modeling, not runway stuff for Alexander McQueen, Chanel, etc.
I wouldn't suggest looking for agencies on craigslist. Agencies on craigslist don't sound very reputable. Taking head shots and all that and sending them to actual reputable agencies would be the best bet for you.
If you're able to move to a city like LA, San Francisco, or New York City (which is amazing for modeling) you should do that because it'll be much easier to find an agency.
Good luck!

Hi there,
You usually give good advice, so your answer here took me by surprise:
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=596191
... I hate to ban you, but the number of abuse reports this has generated makes that just about my only choice.
Is there some explanation or did you just decide you wanted to be banned for some reason?
Please respond soon,

I'm 16, turning 17 in six months, and a junior. I'm in a class mixed with sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Apparently, all of them thought I was a freshman because I look so young.
I'm 5'2", very thin, and I don't really wear make up. I'm not going to go changing my wardrobe and begin wearing pencil skirts with high heels to look 25 at school, so I'm thinking it may be my (lack of) make up that makes me look younger.
I have very fair skin, green eyes, and brown hair. Mascara and eyeliner usually would do the trick, right? (link)
|
You can do a five minute fresh looking face that will bring out your natural beauty and make you look your age.
Just start with a clean face, and put on a light-weight foundation. Don't cake it on, just something light-weight and easy to put on. Then set it with a translucent powder so it stays.
For your eyes, something like a light brown over the lid with a slightly darker brown in the crease would look great with your green eyes. Mascara, and a little bit of eyeliner and you're set.
End it with a bit of blush on the cheeks, some lipgloss or chapstick and you're good to go.

I want to do my hair like Rod Stewart had it in his younger years only dyed blue. I'm willing to do all the maintenance and stuff, would it look ok? (link)
|
Depends on a lot of things.
If you're planning on trying to get a job anytime soon, then no. For females if they dye their hair a crazy color, they can easily throw a nice wig on and they're good to go. I don't know lots of guys that would do that. But if you're just a kid messing around with your hair, go for it.
Just make sure that you take care of your hair. Go for a hair dye brand like Special Effects. Special Effects hair dye lasts the longest from what everyone says and from my own personal experience. And it glows under a black light, which is cool. But it's a vegan hair dye so it uses no chemicals and it doesn't damage your hair at all.
The bleach on the other hand WILL damage your hair. So make sure to use a deep conditioner sometimes. It'll help keep your hair healthy. Hot oil treatments also help.
Make sure to keep up with the maintenance. If you don't, it'll just look like you're lazy and don't care.
Remember it's very hard to get back to your natural hair color after doing all this. You can, but it's hard to do.
If you really want to have the blue hair, go for it. But I really recommend Special Effects. Don't use Raw, Splat, Manic Panic, etc. They won't be as good.

So I've never had a scarf before but I FINALLY got one. Do I just start wearing it right away or wash it first? Would scarves even be safe in the washing machine..? (link)
|
I'm obsessed with scarves, ahaha.
I wear them ALL the time.
And I usually just wear them right away after buying them, I don't wash them after buying them.
But most are hand wash. Almost all scarves have a little tag on them that tell you how to wash them. All of mine, and I have tons of different types, are all hand wash.

So i need some advice.I am not your average skinny girl and i am often paranoid about many things i do.I can fit into hollister clothes and everything but i refuse to wear shorts.I am considered to have "thunder thighs".I am told that i have alot of muscle in my legs but i still don't like it because i feel it looks disgusting.Well i have been wanting to do a emo style for years.I don't have the biggest amount of money and i don't really have a way with getting it.I want a cute way to do my make-up and ways to wear cute clothes without skinnies or shorts.I want to be able to wear cute shirts and have amazing hair and possibly get those dates that ive always wanted.I want to become a known girl that mostly everyone wants to be friends with.Soo,help!I am also female and 14(15 in decemeber) (link)
|
The emo style is REALLY not great.
It's unflattering, and not very attractive.
Try a retro/vintage style. Curvy girls look GREAT in that style. And you don't need skinnies or shorts to pull off that look!
Here's a good makeup look for it, very easy...just need eyeliner and mascara! (you don't need to do the lipstick):
http://lilmissglamourpuss.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/dita09.jpg?w=300
As I said before, you don't need the lipstick since you're only 14. It's a very simple/easy look to do, and it's not too over-the-top!
Hair wise...here's a cute hairstyle:
http://images.askmen.com/imagesmodel/2003_may/dita_von_teese/dita_von_teese_150.jpg
CURL YOUR HAIR, GIRL!
Curls are VERY in this season, and they're so gorgeous. Don't go for the straight hair, teased "emo" look. It's not flattering at all!
Clothing wise check out:
modcloth.com
sourpussclothing.com
Or you could even go to Macy's! They have LOTS of cute clothes and shoes and accessories for a great price! Or even Target! Tons of cute jackets and shirts for a fantastic price!
For someone who's not super skinny, go for a MID-RISE JEAN.
Do not get low-rise. And try straight leg, not SKINNY. Straight-leg or boot cut. But do not do skinny. It makes you look bigger.
Don't wear baggy clothes, also. Wear fitted clothes, they make you look smaller.
Hope these help!
I bet you're a gorgeous girls, who's gonna get all the guys! ;)

Sooo i'm 18 and i met this boy two months ago. We had an immediate connection and he became my boyfriend the next month after we met. Things were great and now he has these days where he seems uninterested. I like him a lot and I know he likes me too because he tells me so, i just don't understand why somedays he acts uninterested in me. I've been through this before and i hate it, I don't know what to do about this or why he does this!
(link)
|
Tell him to be honest with him.
Communication is key! Tell him that you feel like he's not interested in you, and you want to know what he really feels like.
Tell him that you want him to SHOW that he's interested. Tell him everything you're feeling. Just sit down and talk with him.
That's the best I can tell you...you just need to sit down and tell him your feelings. I hope things work out for the best.
Good luck!

I have used a bunch of different brands of pads for my period but I always end up going back to the Always brand. I'd like something better though because sometimes I get this rash from the maxi pads and I REFUSE to use tampons. I was wondering if anybody had really good experiences with a brand other than Always so I could pick up a package of them and try them out instead this month? Thanks. (link)

I like Stayfree and Kotex.

I have really bad isomnia from my depression. Every night, my body constantly aches inside and out. I usually resort to crying during the time I lie awake in the dark. It's all just tearing me apart because it hurts so much... I don't know what to do... (link)
|
Like said before, go see your doctor about this. I'm in the same boat as you, except with anxiety and depression.
Getting on meds would be a good start. Antidepressants can really help you. And seeing a therapist weekly also REALLY helps.
Just talking about it, I find, really helps. So if for some reason you can't see a therapist or something, check out dailystrength.org
It's a support group website with all different support groups (including Teen Depression, and Depression) and they help out immensely.
Hope things get better soon!
