Caffeine Junky Okay, so I'm not a caffeine JUNKY, but lately I've been drinking around two cups of coffee per day, mainly to keep alert while studying. I don't want to depend on coffee to keep me awake...but of course, I don't want to be worn out by mid-afternoon. I am planning to start a basic workout routine, like doing yoga or going swimming, and I am sure it'll help keep me energized...for now, once I sit down at a desk, I feel kind of tired after a couple hours or so.
But anyway, I have a couple of questions:
>>A) How can I give up coffee/caffeine without feeling lethargic and tired?
B)Any ideas on other things (only natural) I can eat/drink that will keep me energized? I have heard that green tea is good- any ideas on that?
Thank you!

well maybe you should try getting more sleep and if you already do get enough hours of sleep then heres how you can get better sleep. i read in a magazine that doing things before you go to bed will help you sleep better.
1. dancing to music
2. do some yoga like you already do
3. read a magazine or book or anything interested for that matter.
carbs usually give you energy, before track meets or any kind of sporting event its good to eat pasta or something good on carbs.
hopefully you can kick the coffee thing because im pretty much dependent on coffee and i get headaches when i dont drink it everyday. it sucks but its what i crave the first thing in the morning.
i hope i helped ]
a)give it up SLOWLY dont give it up completely all at one time...you know what i mean? just every day drink it a little less and start with and energy drink or whatever else you want to try
b)you can always try some kind of energy drink...there are lots of different kinds so if you want something natural im sure theyll have something =] ]
Gradually cut back on the amount of caffiene that you drink per day. During this period of time, try to eat foods that are high in protien such as red meats that will supply you with energy. Get as much sleep as you can until your body has adjusted to functioning without caffiene. Good luck [: ]
A. Don't just try and give it up altogether, that's a really bad idea. I agree with the person below, that you should start drinking less and less, so that you give your body some time to get used to having less caffeine in your system. Give it time, this is a big change for your body. Coffee doesn't give you energy, it just speeds up your nervous system. My mom is a registered nurse and told me this one ;]

B. Fruits and vegetables! I'm not sure about green tea, though.

A good idea to get away from caffeine is probably just to drink less and less everyday so maybe for a few weeks just 1 cup of coffee and then stop all together and just get tons of sleep to make up for the caffeine your taking away. Good luck ]
