well not many games can compare to the COD games. They have been around for a while and have been improving each time a new one comes out. But if i had to say anything that ive played thats like the COD games, it would have to be Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. It requires more advanced tactics than COD, and its pretty realistic. But its story mode is not all that long. That's its major downfall. But if that doesnt fit him well enough, you could always get Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots, but unless hes played the others in the series he may not get certain references to the previous ones. But overall, MGS4 is probably the best game out for the PS3 right now in my opinion.

Brand-new video games usually cost around $40-$60, depending on the production value, with $50 or $60 being the usual.
As for a PS3 game like Call of Duty...You really don't have that much selection availible. The PS3 has a very poor selection of games. If he owns any other console besides the PS3 (Or a good gaming PC), get back to me and I'd be more than happy to help.

There are a lot of new video games out that I know are really popular and people are getting into. I'm a gamer girl and I know my guy friends are into these.. Usually the new ones are bit expensive, around 40$-60$? I'd recommend like COD4 and MGS4.
