What is the best advice anyone has ever given you in life? (mantras are great)

A close guy friend said to me

This was because at one point of my life, I was wondering whether people hated me for my random/weirdness and I was really confused.

"Forget about the past, just keep going. Focusing on what's in front of you and doing what you're doing is the only way to get ahead."
And that is why I'm friends with my best friend ;]
I also know that while this isn't exactly advice, there's a line in a song by The Rocket Summer that I pretty much love:
"On dark and stormy days, somewhere it's glowing."

My choir director gave me this one. Every time we'd warm up and start to hit some high notes, he'd say "Come on, sopranos! No guts, no glory!" to make sure we didn't back off and squeak instead of actually sing. Lol
It turned into "No regret. No remorse. No guts, no glory."
Everything that happens, every choice you make has made you who you are, and will shape the person you will become in the future. If you changed anything you'd be completely different. Charge into life. Love it for what it is, and follow your instincts.
That's what I've learned over the years.

Keep going and never stop. Don't let other people's unwillingness to enjoy what you're enjoying bring you down. Be your own person and never surrender your originality to be like everyone else.
