okay me and my bf have more in common than different
but one of the big differences is he actually likes to talk about problems and i don't i hate talking things out. when ever we have a fight i get scared not that hes going to dump me but the fact thats hes going to want to talk about it so should change myself for that because i dont want to lose him
Communication is vital to a good and healthy relationship.
He wants to talk because he needs to talk about things. You need to (not just for him, but for ANY relationship you are in, ever) learn to talk about things and learn to discuss difficult subjects. [ WittyUsernameHere's advice column | Ask WittyUsernameHere A Question ]

Then I read your question.
In a relationship, to make it work, you HAVE to talk things out, or fight things out, however you do. Things need to be out in the open, feelings need to be expressed, and your guy actually understands that. Most guys have your frame of mind, that they don't want to talk.
You have to remember above everything, that guys CANNOT read minds, and neither can you. You're in a relationship with this guy. How much do you care about him? Do you trust him? If so, you should be willing to open up about what you're feeling, if he is.
I'm not telling you to change who you are. You don't have to tell him every thought that runs through your head, but if he wants to talk things out, then you absolutely need to.
I've had unpleasant conversations, but you know what - the guy I've had them with the most has been with me through thick and thin, he's my best friend, and I love him. But we could never have come this far had we not TALKED to each other about difficult things.
It all depends, really, on how much you care about this guy.
It's up to you. I highly suggest you find a way to open up. If you shut him out too long, you're probably gonna lose him...just speaking from experience.
Good luck

In a relationship you've got to give and take? You may not like talking about things but sometimes it may be necessary and you're going to need to.
for3v3r_his answered Wednesday January 2 2008, 10:07 pm: Your man cares about you enough to deal with your lack of communication but communication is key to a relationship, along with trust which builds with communication. How do you guys solve your problems if you both don't talk bout how you feel to come up with a solution and to ensure the incident won't be repeated or feelings won't be hurt in the same way? Just leaving it and trying to forget bout it or wutever method you guys are using to adapt to you not being open, is not healthy. Everything will build up and you could very well lose him. You need to get over your fears about what you think he will say in response or what he will think about you once he hears your side. You need to be honest. There needs to be a middle where the both of you meet to fix the rough spots and overcome the obstacles of your relationship, in order to survive and make it last. You need to have the confidence that he will accept how you feel and not shame you for it. If you need anything else I'm here. Please work on it. It will make you guys stronger. Good luck. Maybe meet each other half way, if you feel comfortable talk about small problems with him. However if you don't feel comfortable with it clearly don't do it.
I guess there is one problem you can talk about with him, this. I don't think he'll mind if you don't feel comfortable with it so don't worry.
So yeah, just don't change yourself completely because that will end up in tears from both parties.
emilyjessica0x answered Wednesday January 2 2008, 9:41 pm: never change yourself for anyone, not even a boyfriend, but i do think you should tell your boyfriend how you feel so you can cope it out. a relationship needs to be comfortable + you need to talk things out with eachother, you'll know you'll have someone who will listen!
