iiyaxExtrinsic answered Tuesday December 4 2007, 9:33 pm: its not only girls that do this ,
everybody does , including adults .
its because people have alot of energy , and they can't move around because there in class right?
CaliDaniels answered Monday December 3 2007, 8:32 pm: It is not just girls that do this. Many people do this, including boys. People have excess energy that they need to exert, but they can't because they're in class. If you observe people more closely, you will notice that different people do different things just to be able to move. Some tap their pencil, or pop their knuckles.

Lynn_lushh answered Monday December 3 2007, 5:35 pm: actually it's not just girls, and we do it because we're bored and can't sit still or we're just impatient and want to get out of class. Or maybe we're just stressed out thinking about things. there's a lot of different reasons why people do this. hope i answered your question :) [ Lynn_lushh's advice column | Ask Lynn_lushh A Question ]
HiChick answered Monday December 3 2007, 3:56 pm: I asked my mom about this a while ago because I HAVE to be moving in some way or i go crazy. drives my mom mad at church but ANYWAY lol yeah its just a habit your nerves have adopted or a nervous habit (basically same thing) I have watched people (like i have anything better to do in class!) and many people do it, girls and boys alike. Kind of a weird question but i wondered too before :) please rate! [ HiChick's advice column | Ask HiChick A Question ]
musicalblonde7 answered Monday December 3 2007, 3:49 pm: Boys do this too, not just girls. People do this because they are bored or just cannot sit still. They have excess energy and/or adrenaline while sitting down for so long, and feel the need to get rid of it. They usually do this involunarily.
They could also have Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), but that can be unlikely. [ musicalblonde7's advice column | Ask musicalblonde7 A Question ]
thelaura answered Monday December 3 2007, 3:44 pm: I'm guessing everyone has their own answers for this. For some, it's probably a habit, whereas others just can't sit still and want to get the blood flowing around their legs! To be honest though, when you cross your legs, it just gives you something to do so your legs don't go numb.
Weird question! I doubt it's just girls that do it either. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]
S_C answered Monday December 3 2007, 3:41 pm: Wow, haha, I've never really thought about this. I do it and it's really just a nervous habit for me. I can not sit still, at all... I probably have a very mild case of ADHD, but who knows.
Anyway, it's just a thing people do. It's not just girls that do it either. It's the same as tapping a pencil or tapping fingers - a nervous habit. [ S_C's advice column | Ask S_C A Question ]
