My son just wont get a job.

Question Posted Sunday September 9 2007, 10:15 am

All he does is sit around and watch cartoons all day. Why wont he go out and make some money.
I say if he is old enough to carry a shovel he should.
He also sucks in school, I think he ll drop out from kindergarden.

OMG! How old is your song?! Dropping out of kindegarrten. No offens but you need help. My 3 year old nephew can carry around a shovel, Does that mean he needs a job? Let him grow and play. Get a job later in life. I mean seriously? No offense again but do you know how to be a parent? I mean like did you have to get a job when you were little, little? Seriously.

This question is VERY strange. If this is a fake post, then ive just wasted 15 minutes of my life trying to come up with a soloution to help you..which is ,after all, the reason you should be posting this..NOT to waste our time when we could be helping out another person.

Apologies if this ISNT fake...
In which case ignore all the above and read :)

This is my soloution:

Your son is in Kindergarten?!

That makes him no older than 8 right?
Shouldnt he be ENJOYING his childhood?...Once he graduates he will be in a career for DECADES. which is...until hes about 75. thats a long time!
...and as im sure youre aware if you are in a full time career..work is stressful, life dominating to a certain degree and is meant for poeple who can cope with such things...NOT for a child in kindergarten ! :(

Why do you feel your son of a presumably very young age needs to earn money when, quite frankly he has no use for it?

you are the one who provides him with life's essentials...by putting a roof over his head, loving him, feeding him and clothing him also.

i dont mean to sound rude in any shape or form, i just cant understand why you're expecting your son of a very young age to get a job instead of doing what small kids are meant to do...which is watching cartoons!
Maybe you could encourage him to carry out a more acedemic altenative such as reading..or taking up a hobby like swimming, join a baseball team or whatever.

Saying your son "sucks" in school is not a positive approach to take..especially with him being in kindergatrten. if you reveal your negative attitude, or worse TELL him that he sucks, your son will be very miserable throughout his school years because he has aknwleged that his own mother things he's useless.

This is where you can help and prevent this. if you feel he's less capable than other students, or not at a level a boy of his age should have reached by now ,maybe you ought to sit down with him and go though a learning pack that you are able to purchase at Walmart, a Mall or elsewhere. they have a vast variety of books based on education...and the themed ones such as Dr Zeuse's books are fantastic for children as they make learning fun.

Living in the 21st century is an advantage for children due to the internet and improving technology to help them learn. the amount of education material on the internet is insane!

Search for a website which is child friendly and educational simultaniously.

Hopefully you should see an improvement in 6 months, If they hold him back in Kindergarten, its not a big deal. hundereds of kids each year are held back in schools across the country!

Dont make the elarning seem like a chore by FORCING him to do this every night for hours on end if you choose to take my adivce. make it a fun experience and dont make him do more than he wants to do...because he could easily get fed up with it and then no effect would have ben gained.

please support your son, even if he doesnt meet your expectations. He has his whole life ahead of him, and he needs a mother to stand by his side along the way!

i wish you luck.
- Alex

okay hold on!! Frist of all it would help you if you dindt use the word sucks! when talking about your child! and second of all it sounds like your son is in kindergraden, he can not get a job okay he is to young its illegal. and thrid of all if you think he watches t.v. too much then play with him out side or get him involed in a little league or somthing.let him be a kid. if you wont him to work then give him small jobs around the house like cleaning his room and feeding his pets or somthing. and if you think hes doing bad in school then be a parent and help him. you could read him more books, help him with his abc. you know stuff like that!!!
hope i helped you!!!

It sounds like you need to improve your relationship with your son to make him more positive...

"He sucks in school"-- this negativity WILL get through to him without you saying something.

Is he really in kindergarden?! Because legally, he's not allowed to work if he is.

Maybe encourage him to help some elderly neighbours when he's older?

If you're worried about him wasting away in front of the TV, encourage relationships with his friends.

Perhaps you should wait until your son is at a legal age to work :|

how old is your son?
most states won't let you get a job unless you are 16 or have a work permit.
if he hasn't gone to kindergarten yet then i don't think he really needs a job, let him enjoy being young. and enjoy it yourself. he won't be like that forever.

hope i helped =]
