Q: Whats the difference and meaning between friends giving your a regular hug and friends giving you a tight hug and they lift you up?
A: When friends give you a regular hug, it can mean hello or goodbye. Simple as that. It shows you care for them. A tight hug can me your going to miss them very much or you missed them very much if they were gone for a while. A tight hug can be a silly hug when they just fool around. It depends.
When you hug someone, why do you hug someone? Ask yourself that and how do you feel when someone hugs you? Do you feel warm and cozy inside? [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

LOL_x0x answered Thursday August 2 2007, 11:08 pm: It's really easy for people to tell what my hugs mean. Basically because I only give them to special people. (I have a thing with being touched, don't ask).
Anyways, when you hug a friend, it's not a tight hug. It's just a quick, "glad to see you" or "see you soon" thing. Kind of almost meaningless, but meaningful enough to signify your friendship, I guess?
When it's a "tight" hug or when somebody lifts you up, I think it shows more interest and enthusiasm on the person lifting you up's part. It could mean they see you as more than a friend. That's always how I saw it, anyways.
Hope it helps =]
KisaKiss19 answered Thursday August 2 2007, 10:59 pm: i give rib-breaking hugs to people i havn't seen in awhile, people i miss, people i lovee, or if i'm just really excited, that's just a way to let it out.casual hugs, are just saying "hi" and if i've seen them on a daily basis. its also a way i get closer to friends that i dont really know. Basically,to me, the harder the hug, the more you mean to me. I think hugs are for people you don't want to loose,so you hug them to hold on to them. =] (boyfriend hugs are a different story, for me i'll play with their shirt in the back or something weird. ) anywayss, hope i helped. =]
ebilgir_ answered Thursday August 2 2007, 10:15 pm: I hug as a way of saying "I love you!" or "thanks" or just because I wanted a hug from someone.
When my friends give my a regular casual hug, it usually means like "I'm happy to see you" or "you're awesome!", but when he hug tightly and such, it usually means "I love you like a sister/brother!" or "I missed you so much!".
I usually casually hug regular friends, and I save the special hugs for my close friends.
I love hugs so much more than kisses because hugs can save a life, and kisses can destroy one..
xomegaroni answered Thursday August 2 2007, 9:15 pm: Interesting question. I think it all depends on the person. Sometimes hugs are just casual between friends, nothing more. Sometimes they are a sign of flirting. It really depends on the person, their feelings, how they act around you, & their personality.
