queenhearts answered Tuesday July 10 2007, 11:44 am: 1) How long will it take? About 5 minutes
2) How do they do it? I guess you can ask what you want. But my first time they did these: They applied some warm wax and stripped it off. It doesn't really hurt, just burns/"smarts" I guess. They did a method called threading and it takes out a hair by the follicle. It feels weird. Then they plucked the stray hairs that the wax didn't get.
3) On a scale one to ten, ten being highest, how bad did it hurt for you the first time? It stung for waxing because it's a sensitive place. So maybe 6 but the feeling goes away quickly.
4) What age did you start getting yours waxed/plucked, etc? I plucked my own when I was 14 and I recently gone mine done in a salon about 2 months ago.. for the first time haha.
5) How often will I need to get them redone or whatever? Depends. I didn't need to get mine redone for at least a month. You could always pluck the stray hairs yourself. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]
LadyH answered Monday July 9 2007, 11:29 pm: 1.) Usually takes about 3-5 minutes for the whole process - atleast for me. Depends on the person's pace.
2.) Apply the wax to shape the bottom of your eyebrow, strip off. Apply the wax to the top of your eyebrow, strip off. Repeat on your other eyebrow. Then they'll do in between eyebrows (Don't worry, they aren't suggesting you have a unibrow, haha.) Then they'll pluck anything that wasn't waxed. Thankfully, it's usually only a few suckers.
3. 3. I think it actually feels good now, haha. If it hurts for anyone, it's for 2 seconds.
4. I started plucking when I was about 15. But I switched to getting them waxed when I was 18. You couldn't pay me to pluck them again. It's too painful & more of a hassle, in my opinion.
5. Depends on the person. Mine don't start becoming REALLY noticable till after a month & a half. If you occassionally pluck them to keep their shape, you can go longer without having to go back.
Aw, hey girl you're only getting more worked up than it really is. It's no biggie, I promise. This question reminds me I need to go get mine done. How exciting. :) [ LadyH's advice column | Ask LadyH A Question ]
Roxeh101 answered Monday July 9 2007, 9:26 pm: 1.Maybe 10 minutes, probably a little less.
2.They just put the wax on top of the hair they're taking off, put a special tape on top of the wax, and rip it off.
3. 1/10 it stings a teensy bit and sorta feels weird but doesn't actually hurt.
4. I think I was 11....
5. Well mine took almost a month to just get a few hairs grown back in, but you can just pluck those at home, but if you prefer waxing, knock yourself out. [ Roxeh101's advice column | Ask Roxeh101 A Question ]
xO_b_r_i_a_n_a_Ox answered Monday July 9 2007, 9:19 pm: 1. about 10 minutes depending on your eyebrows
2. they put wax on with like a popsicle stick thing then put a strip over it, and press down then pull.
3.uhh 6 maybe?
4. 12 i think
5. umm i guess it depends on how fast it grows back, but i'd say like every other month
grayrainbow answered Monday July 9 2007, 9:02 pm: hey dont wrry
1. a lil less than 5 min.
2.they put warm max on the parts of your eyebrows that needs hair to be removed, and they but cloth on it and then pull it off.
3. like a 1 it doesnt hurt at all, chill! =]
4.i started tweezing my eyebrows in 4th or 5th grade.
5.umm waxing once a month, but you may need to just tweeze lil hairs once and a while.
it doesnt hurt that bad at all, if it does, just tell the lady to give you a lil break. it kinda burns afterwardds though cause your skin is irratated.
LOL_x0x answered Monday July 9 2007, 8:41 pm: 1. Like 5 minutes.
2. They put wax on your eyebrow and in between, then a paper thing. Then they rip it off. But not super hard like the 40 year old virgin waxing scene (even though that was chest hair.)
3. It hurt about a 5ish. Not that bad at all.
4. I started getting mine at 14. Thoguh I've only gotten them done 3 times.
5. However often you want. You could do it at home with kits you can buy or you can use tweezers.
Goo luck =]
JustAskAlli answered Monday July 9 2007, 8:38 pm: Don't be nervous.
1.] Depending on how much hair there is or however the person shaping it, or even how experienced the person is.. it could take from 5 minutes to 20 max.
2.] They will take a wooden stick, (like the ones doctors use to check if you have strep throat) and will put a hot wax on it. (No, the wax doesn't hurt when they apply it, it's just a little warm on your skin). Then they will wipe it across on however their shaping them. Then they will take a special paper and put it down on the wax and tear off.
3.] To be honest, it all depends on the hurt factor of the person. In my opinion -- I'd say probably a 7. Haha. But it could be different for you depending on your pain factor.
4.] I started getting mine waxed and plucked probably going into middle school.
5.] It all depends on how you want them to look. You don't have to keep going back if you don't want to. It's all according to your preference.
christina answered Monday July 9 2007, 8:27 pm: I just got mine waxed for the first time in June. I've usually been using other ways to get my eyebrows the way I want them, but I decided to try waxing out.
For one, it'll take about 5 minutes, possibly 10. So it's real quick. They put wax onto your eyebrow, then put the paper & apply & pull. It doesn't hurt that bad, I'd say about a 5. But pain is different for everyone, so it could tickle you. I just got mine done, and I'm 16, but I first started doing my eyebrows around 13-14. Depending on how quick your hair grows back, maybe every month & half or so.
1.) a few minutes, like, maybe 5-10
2.) they put this hot liquid on your eyebrows (where they want to take the hair off) and they put this almost tape-like looking thing on top of the hot wax, press down, and rip it off really fast.
3.) 3 or 4... it didn't hurt.
4.) i got mine first waxed when i was 13
5.) probably every few weeks, maybe 4-6 depending on how fast your eyebrow hairs grow back.
