I'm totally clueless on what Hair Straightener to buy. My hair is wavy and it's in between thick and thin hair. My hair is healthy. I want a hair straightener that is at a good price too. My mother probably wouldnt buy me one if it was too expensive. Between $20-$40 is good. Please help me find a good hair straightener that isnt so expensive for my hair type. I dont plan on using it EVERY SINGLE DAY but more than once a week.
Thanks.

MAK answered Wednesday June 6 2007, 3:36 am: wet2straight. It works wonders, and it has different settings, too, plus holes for steam to escape so your hair doesn't get as damaged as it will with most straighteners. [ MAK's advice column | Ask MAK A Question ]

Go to your regular hair supply boutique and ask them to recommend a hair straightner for you! You can tell them what kind of hair you have, and what you want, and they'll find something for you.
Dunnworryjuzdoit answered Tuesday June 5 2007, 8:59 pm: A good hair straightner is one that has two large flat sides that clamp together tightly (while you hold it) and it doesn't catch your hair in it either. The brand doesn't really matter too much. JUST A WARNING - Having wavy hair IS SEXY and guys usually find it even more attractive because you stand out among the other average straight haired girls (makes you look a little more exotic which every guy loves). Also, When you straighten your hair too much, the pulling on your hair follicle may damage the follicle so much that eventually your hair may stop growing permanently, so take it easy on your hair and hold your hair at the top so it does not pull on the root. I have long wavy brown hair and I never really knew the beauty of it till now because I always used to straighten my thick wavy long hair until it started to fall out and become thin. Luckily, my hair has grown back but that's not always the case, now I wear my hair natural with a wave and random guys Ive never met come to me and say how much they love it. Also, make sure after you shower to put a leave in conditioner and then straighten your hair that way you won't damage or dry it out as much. Hope that helps because having a head of hair is better than having none. [ Dunnworryjuzdoit's advice column | Ask Dunnworryjuzdoit A Question ]
lbwhite89 answered Tuesday June 5 2007, 8:50 pm: If you want a GOOD straightener that will last for a year or more, go to Sally's, give them your price range, and they'll find one for you. Mine was $50 but on sale for $40 and it's awesome AND came with a warranty.
Brezzer12 answered Tuesday June 5 2007, 8:47 pm: i'd suggest going to Wal-mart or any store local even like jc pennys and get a straightner that you can change the heat. the "box" should say differnt settings, just get that one and find a setting that works with you hair. Not tooo hot, but hot enough. [ Brezzer12's advice column | Ask Brezzer12 A Question ]

But if you want a great working straightner even if it doesn't last long its great! It's about 30 dollars! Good luck! All of there straighters are good!
