Your parents have a reason for doing these things to you. Hollister and A&F are EXPENSIVE. Sorry but $27 dollars for a shirt and $75 for jeans is a little expensive. Try shopping at places that are cheaper like DEB or Wet Seal. That way you can afford your clothes & other things as well. You don't need to designer clothes to look nice. There's nothing wrong with Wal*Mart or things on clearance.
They're not doing anything but teaching you a lifelong lesson & you need to get over it. Instead of complaining, see it from your parents point of view. They're doing this in your best interest & teaching you something valuable that not many kids GET to learn. I don't even understand how you have two jobs at 13 years old. Most places don't hire til 16-17. Either way, stop complaining & love the things you've got. You've got clothes, food & a warm house. Most people don't even have that. Cherish your life instead of getting mad because you don't get everything you want. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
LoveNJstyle answered Saturday June 2 2007, 3:40 pm: maybe they are trying to teach you a lesson that you DON'T need to buy clothes from a&f and hollister. those are a treat, not a privilege. maybe if they see that you've MATURED and don't mind clothes from other places, they'll buy you new clothes. you're not deprieved. sure, they may be cheap and you might be sweating to death but if you don't get your act together and stop acting like you NEED new expensive clothes, not only are you not getting anything from your parents, but from everyone else. chill out, it is not the end of the world. i was worse off than you when i was 13 and i turned out just fine. <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
DandKitsLOVE01 answered Saturday June 2 2007, 2:52 pm: when you do get money go to Gordmans.... they have nice shorts and they are only like 7.99 :]]
i'm a spoiled brat and i get pissed off when my parents don't give me what i want. i'm not ashamed of it , they shouldn't be greedy with YOUR money :]
scoobscooby2002 answered Saturday June 2 2007, 1:53 pm: I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm a mom and can see where you're parents are coming from. They are trying to teach you responsibility. Hiding your money from you is probably them trying to teach you how to save it.
My daughter may be only 5, but she has a "job" here at home, and that earns her "toy money" or whatever she wants that she's not getting without having her own money (i.e. She wants a Chinchilla; I'm not spending 150 dollars on a pet that I will have to take care of, so she gets to save the money and eventually when she can afford to buy the animal, and the necessities; she can get one).
I wouldn't buy my daughter designer clothes either. If she wanted designer clothes, she can get a job and pay for them herself. Walmart clothes aren't that bad - I wore them myself when I was your age. GROW UP!!!
karenR answered Saturday June 2 2007, 12:33 pm: Wow. Drama.
So long as you aren't running around naked your
selfish rich parents (your words, not mine) don't legally HAVE to buy you anything to wear, as I'm sure your mom can tell you.
Even if they do buy you clothes, all they have to do is go to Walmart. There is no law that says they have to wrap you in designer clothes. Those, you can spend your own money on.
So long as you have food in your stomach, clothes on your back (yes, even those with rips), and a roof over your head, they are taking care of your basic needs. Grow up and be thankful for what you do have. [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
TEENAGExHEARTS answered Saturday June 2 2007, 12:28 pm: don't take this the wrong way or anything, but your kinda being selfish as well. i know you might need clothes, but you can't be getting picky and say you need clothes from abercrombie & fitch and hollister ONLY.
if you needed clothes that badly then you wouldn't be so picky.
try going to target or kohls for some nice cheaper clothes. or even forever 21.
