I am so annoyed. I always have acne. It is like..constant break outs, and it never stops. I dont know what else to do. I have tried everything from clearasil, neutrogena, clean and clear, differin, duac, tea tree oil, clinique 3 step skin care, olay, and alot more. I usually break out around the T zone, my chin, and forehead..basically everywhere. Please dont give me amateur advice. Like..drink plenty of water and get a lot of sleep ( I do anyways. ) Also please dont recommend products that you have never tried. Please recommend what you think will REALLY work for me. And also please don't tell me not to wear makeup because I cant stand to see myself without the acne covered up. I need a moisturizer also because if I dont use it before I put makeup on, than it looks cakey. But that may be because I have big pores in the spots that it looks cakey. Any help for big pores? I would really appreciate your advice
Thanks
bitterxsweet answered Saturday April 7 2007, 6:28 pm: Dont cry if ProActiv doesnt work, because it didnt for me, and you sound like me.
Go to the derm. Ask about Accutane or Minocycline. ive always heard wonderful things about Accutane as far as results, however it can result in serious side effects, even suicidal behavior in some cases, and its mandatory to be put on at least 1 if not 2 birth controls while taking it. Minocycline isnt as strong, but works well, and doesnt have such serious side effects. Im on it and it seems to be doing great.
Also, it could be your make up. Definitely dont wear Neutrogena, MaxFactor, or Covergirl. Straight from the mouth of my derm. Try Almay. it gives the same look but is much better for your face. And be sure to wash your face at least every night to get rid of make up. Its extremely tedious but is half your problem if you dont.
And i dont know if this works, but just a tip, make sure you wash pillow cases about once a week or two, and rub the mouth and ear areas of phones with alcohol the same. Bacteria build up there, so you`ll want to avoid it.

I deal with bad T-zone acne and huge pores.
What I do, if mash out the zits and blackheads
then I take a really hot shower and wash my face with Phisoderm. It's wonderful. I use the soap bar. Then when I get out, I rub Hydrogen Peroxide all over the zits until they turn white with a cotton ball. And then apply rubbing alochol to dry them up and tighten your pores.
Your skin may flake a bit, but just rub it off and pretty soon it will clear up marvelously.
Btw, the mashing can be quite painful, but it's worth it.
baachan answered Saturday April 7 2007, 2:33 am: going to a dermatologist is the best thing. I used to have really bad acne and once I went there they gave me some medicine and two creams to put on before I go to bed and now it's all gone. [ baachan's advice column | Ask baachan A Question ]
05natalie05 answered Saturday April 7 2007, 1:50 am: hey there!
I have serious acne too. I've had it since I was about 10 and it just got worse when I went to highschool. I used pimple cream everynight, but it wouldn't work properly, and I know you dont want to hear this, but dont where foundation or powder because it really does help take your pimples away. Also if it gets really REALLY bad, you can go see your doctor.
orphans answered Saturday April 7 2007, 1:29 am: I got ProActiv a few weeks ago, and I've been using it and is SERIOUSLY working. I use to have big pores on my nose and my forehead was just covered. But now, it's almost all gone. You should order ProActiv. (Link below) The one I ordered costed $59.95 but it was really worth it.
--- I don't understand why I got a 3. You shouldn't rate like that. I went and found the link, found the price and described it. ProActiv was the only thing that worked for me. Like you, I had tried tons of different products also. THANKS, you make my rating drop LOW. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
TinkerbellsHelp answered Saturday April 7 2007, 1:28 am: Go to a dermatologist. When people on here would tell me to go to a derm I got annoyed, but then I went and the doctor put me on Accutane. Its for people with serious acne, but ask your derm about it. It worked so well! I used to have horrible skin, now i have really clear skin (except for the scars, which should go away over time) and i got my first zit this week, since i got off the medicine and it was so tiny and it has been like 2 or 3 months. There are side effects, but its worth it.
christina answered Saturday April 7 2007, 1:03 am: I've used Pro-Activ before, and I think it works really well. It takes away the acne & doesn't dry out your skin. If you haven't used it already, try it. I think it might work for you.
If your acne isn't going away though, it could the makeup you're using. Try using different brands & see if it helps. If not, you just might have oily skin, or a skin condition. But no worries, this can be treated.
If you're at wit's end with your acne, see your dermatologist & see what he/she recommends. They know a lot of the things out there, and they could give you something you might not have thought of, or they can give you a special medicine that will clear it for you. Good luck. carayotie answered Saturday April 7 2007, 12:43 am: I don't know if it would help with major acne, but its worth a shot. Try Egg White.
Crack and egg and spoon out the yolk. Mix up the rest of the stuff until its frothy (bubbly). Then stick your face over a hot pot of steaming water (to open the pores) after about 5-10 minutes of that plaster on the egg white and let it dry -that usually takes about 15-20 minutes. You'll know its working when you can feel your skin tighten and itch in some places (the itch means its cleaning your skin). The Egg white is filled with protiens your skin needs which helps clean and have it look healthy. Don't expect your acne to be gone overnight, but after a few weeks of doing this, it should help.
