crunches are really confusing.
sure, they make you loose some calories,
but not enough. If your skinny and you do crunches, it shapes your stomach and makes a six pack more visable. if your overweight, it also gives you a nice stomach, but under some of the fat. So even if you are overweigt, crunches are still good for you, so that when you do loose weight, your amazing abs show through. also, running helps loose weight very well. Whether your running in place to your sterio, on a treadmill, or outside, it always helps alot.
Hope i helped <33

the thing about crunches is, They work, but they work sections of your abs. a traditional crunch works the upper section, by your ribs.
If you do a reverse crunch (My friend did these, it works very well.) it will work the bottom section of your abs. A reverse crunch is when you lay flat on your back with your knees up, then lift your butt of the ground.
Doing side crunches works the sides of your abs. Do these like normal crunches but instead of going straight up, curl up to either knee.

basically, if you do sets of twenty regular, twenty reverse, and twenty sides to the left, and twenty to the right, maybe twice a day, you'll get results like ... well I was going to say like this, and snap.. but I guess that doesn't work well over the internet. haha. You get the point.

Good Luck with This

Cardio. You can't spot-reduce fat.

You have to get rid of the fat, and then you cna work on building muscle if you so desire.

umm do like sits ups. start with 100 a day and then start doing more as you find them easer. running is good too. try cutting back on junk and on soda... if you have a membership to the ymca or a gym thats good too. && sports might be helpful as well.
hopee helped
and you could always type in google how to get a flat stomach or something like that. and if you check out magazines they have so many things like that!

crunches work your abs, and they burn calories and make muscle there. yes they work. you could run, do sit ups, or pretty much any other cardio excersize. and if you dont do them regularly then nothing will happen. you have to do them pretty much every day.
