So I know its illegal to have sex with someone over 18 if you are a minor... no big deal, we both are very strict about the wait till you aare married thing and i will not let my guard down. my quaetion is, is it still illegal if we date and i am a minor and he is 18 but we do not have sex or anything?

First, I want to commend you and your boyfriend for waiting until marriage. I think that's great, and a very responsible thing to do. Now, to answer your question -- it is perfectly fine for you two to date. It's only when you're having sex, that the law comes into play. :)

nope not at all. as long as ya'll aren't having sex, it is completely legal. because if it was you consider that dating is just being with someone you really like, holding hands, huggin, kissing and you know all that jazz. well if it was illegal, what about movies where you got like 20 year olds playin high schoolers which would mean having co-stars who probably are in high school? kinda like in freaky friday when chad michael murray was like 20somethin and lindsay lohan was like 16 or 17....so no, unless ya'll have sex, it's perfectly legal.

ok im looking at the laws of the United States and i dont see anything thats pertains to what you are saying i cant find anything. but no it is not illegal to date someone if he is 18 and you are a minor i hope that is right i would ask your parents but i am not seeing any law that states that.

Good for you for being responsible about it, and it sounds like your boyfriend is just as committed.
As long as you don't have sex, you're fine. If you have a huge age gap, you might want to be careful that you don't get totally hung up on the guy and miss out on other chances to be a teen, but it's ultimately up to you, and if you truly believe you love him, more power to you.

What you are referring to is an adult who has sex with a minor is commiting statutory rape. That is what's illegal.
So if you aren't having sex, you should be in the clear.

i know exactly what u are going through right now.
my boyfriend is almost 18 and i just turned 14 & we are very afraid about what would happen is the police or whatever found out. just dont worry about it and pay attention to who knows about u guys dating.
