Of course.

If you're worried, you can do what I did and post a picture that doesn't really show your face well.

But you can't really track someone down by picture.

Just don't give out your name, address, etc. if you're scared.

Hey. You sound just like me. It's so horrible how there are so many creeps out there on the internet but unfortunately, that's our world. I think it would be ok if that's all you put up of yourself but don't put Any other information about yourself as you probably know. I really hope this helped! =)

i think your advice comlumn
would be safer tahn myspace, xanga, etc.
cause there are more creeeps
on those sites.

It's really just a personal choice,
but if you do put your picture
or even if yuo don't
NEVER put
+ your last name
+ your adress
+ your phone number

I know I sound like an internet safety
commercial, lol, but creey things happen
on the internet.

I'd stick to a pic of you
or if you're still uncomfortable..
maybe a cute pic of like your dog?
or soemthing cool from sites like
photobucket.com

Not necesarily because it is the internet, but if a person can have pictures on their myspace, I don't see why not on their advice column.

It all depends on you. If you don't trust the net, or like the idea of displaying yourself, then don't do it. The decision is completely yours. But honestly, I like having my picture up. I don't know why.

But then again, I think it is quite safe as long as you don't put your full name, address, phone number, etc.

I see myself while reading your question. Because I am so cautious about the internet, and displaying any type of information. However, I have become better about it. But I'm still safe. I think that's the medium you have to meet. In order to do that, you don't really have to trust the internet or the people on it. Just as long as you do not display personal information. Such as name, address, phone number, etc.

I don't see anything wrong with it, in my opinion. I mean, I personally, would not put my picture on just any website, but on Advicenators I wouldn't see a problem. Not that only certain people access this site or anything, but it's not one of those sites that want every single bit of personal info you have. So I think you're safe, just as long as you don't let out any personal information.

Lastly, I do have to commend you for caring about internet safety. It's very important, and unfortunately, a lot of people don't see that.

As long as you don't give out any personal information like your full name, location, myspace page, or anything linking to somewhere that the general public can find information on you. Do whatever makes you comfortable.

Yeah. Personally I only think its unsafe if youre like, "Hi Im Mary Laurence. I live in Los Angeles, California. My address is 45 burrowsville lane." etc, etc. No one can track you down by PICTURE.
