Your responsibility as the babysitter is to make sure they're safe. The parents are the ones who are responsible for discipline, not you. Just keep the kids happy and in one piece until they return. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
LagunaBabe answered Saturday April 17 2010, 2:48 pm: What kind of babysitter are you? You should go to jail just for saying that. That poor, innocent child. This is what kind of sick people live in this world. [ LagunaBabe's advice column | Ask LagunaBabe A Question ]
OhMyLucyDarling answered Saturday April 17 2010, 1:43 pm: NO, you don't just leave her there. You take responsibility as the child is in your care. If you leave the child with it's head stuck in the stair rails not only is this extremely dangerous but it's clearly and can be classified as child abuse.
Babysitting is stressful as we all know, But babysitting is a responsibility and if you can't handle that then I would suggest NOT babysitting any children.
Trauma answered Saturday April 17 2010, 10:46 am: Absolutely not. I know babysitting is stressful, trust me, and I really hope this question is just a joke, but if the child gets her head stuck in the stair rails, you need to help her immediately. It can be extremely dangerous to leave her there. [ Trauma's advice column | Ask Trauma A Question ]
MSMWBTUA1718 answered Thursday January 25 2007, 8:13 pm: no, that could be very dangerous, and doing that as punishment is just abusive, this child's parents wouldn't be exactly happy about it. get them out, and send them to their room. that's that [ MSMWBTUA1718's advice column | Ask MSMWBTUA1718 A Question ]
brunnie_babe answered Thursday January 25 2007, 7:23 pm: I would love to tell you yes, especially since I've been in that situation, but you can't... help the kid out of the railing then give the child a severe time out and say you are going to speak to his/her parents. If you do feel like you could do something horrible to this child though, maybe you should quit... it's not safe for either of you. [ brunnie_babe's advice column | Ask brunnie_babe A Question ]
JackiexMarie answered Thursday January 25 2007, 5:15 pm: If you want to just hear yes then go somewhere else because i'm not. No, don't leave her, and i'm sure she didn't do that on purpose. You can hurt the poor kid's neck. You don't punish a kid by physically hurting them, you put them in time out of forbid them from doing things they like to do.
