Thongs
I don't know why and it's kinda gross but lately like everyone in my class started wearing thongs instead of underwears and even the teacher! I don't get what's so good about having a peice of string hanging up your ass. Is it like because when you're wearing something that's not jeans that the lines on your thongs wont show up as much as an underwear would? Or is it cheaper or something?

im not a huge fan of thongs myself. alot of underwear does show panty lines but that can be easily avoided if your clothing fits right. and actually i know that alot of thongs cost more than or as much as regular underwear. i like the compromise of bikini underwear b/c its not butt floss and it doesnt look like its for 60 year olds. but boyshorts are awesome too!

there not comfortable, your just used to them like the other user on here said down below. But I think it could also be a conscience issue, i feel better about myself wearing a thong then regular underwear under jeans, cause of having a panty line, I had the feeling your feeling right now, but 3 years later i am wearing them a lot. But some girls use it the wrong way, meaning i saw this one girl the other day at the mall and her thong was close to her belly button (the string) and it was obvious that she knew it was like that cause she kept adjusting it so it would look like sexy or somehting (but it could send the wrong message) some girls like to use it for attention to get guys, which is really tacky.

The panty line reason for wearing thongs is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, thongs can eliminate panty lines, BUT how is it that you know your teacher is wearing a thong? Because you can see the stupid thing. Sure she got rid of the panty line, but what's the point if you can still see the underwear?? That, to me, is much worse than a panty line. It's disgusting and slutty. If you don't want panty lines wear boyshorts or something.
I don't mind thongs. I actually wear them myself sometimes, but I always make sure that it's not going to be hanging out when I sit down or bend over...unless I'm going to be alone with my boyfriend. Nobody else needs to see that.
To add to your complaints I can't stand it when girls wear thongs to school when they have gym class. You'll walk into the locker room and "ew I'm going to go puke now".
As others have said, thongs aren't cheaper. They're often more expensive, but you can find some that are about the same price as regular underwear.
I think that most people wear them because they're popular. One of those "because everybody else does" deals. The thing is, unless they're sticking out, you can't see other people's underwear. So, in this case, wear what you want. If you think thongs are pointless and annoying don't wear them. Nobody's going to care that much anyway. If anybody gives you a hard time they suck. Don't talk to them anymore.

Anyways, girls wear them because some girls find it comfortable. Also, it eliminates the lines that show up when you wear normal panties. Or some girls just like them because they think thongs are sexy & that it'll make them seem older. Other girls just like them without reason, period.
Depending on where you go, yes it might be cheaper, but most stores don't sell them that cheap. Rue 21 usually sells them for 99 cents and higher.

No, it's not cheaper at all, thongs are usually the same price as all other sorts of underwear.
Me, personally, I don't see it either. I don't want a piece of string up my ass, so I just wear those little boy short things.
Alot of girls like them because they're "sexy" and flattering to them and it might make them see older and such. Others like them for the fact that there's no panty line and stuff from them, and they're not as visible.

My MoM always asks me the same thing, really in reality thongs are more comfortable to many people. They are DEFINATLY not cheaper! And it is true that when someone wears a thong their underwear lines are not nearly as visible. I started wearing thongs when I was in 8th grade, I was on the volleyball team and the required uniform is spandex shorts, so underwear becomes visible and its not nice to have everyone know what style underwear your wearing.
