Verizon Texting involving parent problems... :/ - I do not have texting on my verizon phone.
- I heard that verizon-to-verizon texts were free...
- I recntly found out that is not true if you don't buy a certain plan.
- My father pays for my phone bill, and he will FREAK out when he gets it for this month.
- I am VERY worried though. My parents are strict, & I mean VERY strict. & I have been texting this boy.
My questions are the following:
1. Can my dad read what I have sent?
2. If so, is there any way of me changing that?
3. Does it show who I've been texting or just the number?
4. How can I block any incoming or outgoing texting; I guess take it off my phone?
PLEASE HELP. Thanks

1. Your dad cannot read anything that you have read...unless he went through your phone.
2. It won't show up on the bill
3. The bill won't show who you've been texting or the number...
4. if you go to messaging, on the bottom left it says settings, and one of the options is to block and unblock ]
on the bill your dad can see who you have been texting ( the phone number) but he will not beable to see what you have sent (wut u or the boy have said) im not sure about blocking texts, but just tell the boy that you can no longer text anymore!
hope this helped

1. your dad cannot read what you've sent, unless he takes your phone and goes through the sent messages folder.
3. it only shows the number.
4. some phone companies will block incoming messages, if you call in and ask. and the way to block outgoing messages is to not send any. haha
also if you don't wanna call to block incoming messages, what you have to do is not open any incoming messages..just delete them. that way you don't have to pay for them. ]
Nope. The good thing about verizon is they don't show who you've called or texted on the bill. The only way you can see it is from the phone or online. It does show how many texts you sent or received on the bill though. If there's not a lot of texts, the bill shouldn't be too high. I'm not sure how to block texting though. ]
1. Nope not at all unless he takes your phone and you have yet to delete them
3. Just the number dear
4. You can't block any texts as far as I know. Even if you get a plan that has no texting on your phone, you can still send and recieve texts. My best advice: DON'T TEXT BACK :D ]
1) only if he sees your phone...otherwise no
2) dont let him see your phone
3) the cell numbers only
4) if you dont want to pay for the texting, when you get a message, just delete it without opening it, and you wont have to pay!
***ALSO: verizon-verizon texts ARE free IF you get a certain plan. I would suggest it, its like 10 dollars a month for unlimited texts... ]
1. I don't think so... There may be some complex way for him to find out (e.g. he calls verizon) but I doubt he would go that far.
2. Nope.
3. On the bill, it only shows the number.
4. You can't, unless you specify it to verizon. Probably means you have to call them, or go on the website. ]
1. No he can't read it.
2. The only one who can change anything about your phone is the person who pays the bill. Meaning, if your phone is in his name, only he can change things.
3. It should only list phone numbers of the text messages received or that you sent to.
4. So far as I know, the only way to totally block text messages to and from your phone is to have the feature removed from your phone plan. I don't know if that can actually be done. The only one who can do that is the person who's name the phone is under. ]
1. no, your dad cannot read what you have sent.
3. it shows only the number you have been texting, although do keep in mind he may ask you who it is.
4. do you mean just deleting the texts youve sent? if so, no you cannot block it that way. you can put a call barring on your phone to stop people texting you.
if you just explain to your dad that you thought the texts were free, he should understand. stay calm and just say to him. Maybe you can go and talk to your service provider company and you can change a few things on your plan. Then you'll know for mext time. Good luck! hope this helped!
