this might sound dumb but im not from the US so dont know what a freshman or somophore is...can anyone help me out!!?? do you have any other names also?

Freshman is a 9th grader. 1st year in High school. whos about like 14-15 years old
Sohpomore is a 10th grader. 2nd year in High School. whos about like 15-16.
Junior is a 11th grader. 3rd year in High shcool. whos about like 16-17 years old
Senior is a 12 grader. last year in High school whos about like 17-18 years oldd

a freshman is ninth grader(someone in their first year of highschool) a sophmore is a tenth grader(someone in their second year of highschool)

A Freshman is the 9th grade, or their "ninth year" or school, thus the equivalent to someone's "tenth year" (like Britain) in other countries.
A Sophomore is the 10th grade, or their "tenth year" of school in the US, thus it's their "eleventh year" in other countries.
Then there's Junior for their 11th year of school, and Senior for their final 12th year of school.
