fatalxheart answered Friday October 6 2006, 1:44 am: You have better chances if you take the classes and are certified.
but it's not required.
your parents just want you to know what to do incase of an emergency, and what to do the correct way. [ fatalxheart's advice column | Ask fatalxheart A Question ]

It's just a good thing to know incase a situation comes up while you're watching the kid.
Also, you'll probably get more babysitting jobs, because parents'll feel comfortable knowing their kids in safe hands with someone whose learned this and knows what they're doing, unlike most girls who babysit and have never taken a class or anything.
MummuM answered Thursday October 5 2006, 10:41 pm: You don't HAVE to take it, but it would probably be a good idea to take that class. A lot of parents will pay you more money if you did take that course. Also, a lot of parents would know their children were in good hands if you took this course. Because you never know what could happen if you're babysitting younger kids. They may choke on something and it'll be better to know what to do, than to not know what to do. It's also a good thing to have under your belt in every day life. I know I took a babysitting course and a CPR course; my mom made me take it when I was younger. But now, I realize that it's a great thing to know how to do, especially if anything every happens. So I suggest to just take the course, it would be good to have. Teza answered Thursday October 5 2006, 10:35 pm: You don't need to take it, but it would be a really good idea. You have to know what to do when a child is hurt, burnt, anything like that. It's not required but when you babysit, the parent's would feel a lot better if you knew more about what to do in those situation and they could even pay you more. queenhearts answered Thursday October 5 2006, 9:05 pm: Well i dont think the parents would expect you to know that or anything..
But it's a great idea to know how.
It would come in handy so I guess if you want the money you would take the class. [ queenhearts's advice column | Ask queenhearts A Question ]
