BitsandPieces answered Monday September 18 2006, 11:43 pm: I found this advice on the net from someone's dentist, supposedly. "If you brush back and forth, floss first. If you brush up and down, floss after." I guess it makes sense, but the best thing is to do it before bedtime. Also, if you brush first, you won't be pushing up more bacteria into the gumline when you floss. After flossing I usually do a quick extra brush, tongue scrape and listerine. So nice to have a sparkling fresh mouth! [ BitsandPieces's advice column | Ask BitsandPieces A Question ]
MummuM answered Monday September 18 2006, 2:20 pm: Flossing after you brush would be better since you get the stuff out that you missed while brushing your teeth. ♥ [ MummuM's advice column | Ask MummuM A Question ]
aquababe1 answered Sunday September 17 2006, 10:33 pm: i dont know where the hell the people below me get their info but it's definitely before. they said its because it "gets away the stuff brushing missed". so basically they want you to brush your teeth and then floss so you have little pieces of food floating in your mouth?? youre supposed to floss before to loosen up things stuck in between your teeth and THEN brush it to get it all out. if youre still not sure you can call up your dentist, but trust me it's before!! sizzlinmandolin answered Sunday September 17 2006, 6:52 pm: Oh man. It's definitely before. I can't believe so many people have said to do it after. My dentist told me this. If you floss after you brush, residue from any food that you get out will still be in your mouth. If you do it before you brush, it loosens everything up and the brush can get the rest. Think about washing a table. Do you scrub the small stuff off first leaving the big stuff for last, or do you quickly wipe the big stuff away before scrubbing? Ask your dentist about this the next time you go. Then you'll know what the answer is for sure. Good luck. :) [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
MelLeDisko answered Sunday September 17 2006, 11:40 am: After, because when you brush, that helps get most of the stuff off of your teeth, and then flossing gets rid of the little bits stuck inbetween your teeth, or whatever else brushing might have missed. I hope I helped. [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
LOL_x0x answered Sunday September 17 2006, 11:33 am: After, becasue you get the stuff brushing missed. If you did it before, you might not get all the junk outta your teeth.
hope it helps!
