HOPLESSxROMNTC answered Sunday September 10 2006, 9:25 pm: I used to be confused about that too until I looked it up one day lol.
Well Est. is established, so the brand name 'Abercrombie' was established in 1892 selling hunting clothes, gear, etc. That is why the logo is a moose.
But I have no clue how hunting stuff turned into what it is selling these days lol. [ HOPLESSxROMNTC's advice column | Ask HOPLESSxROMNTC A Question ]

the definetion of established is set up or found.
MelLeDisko answered Sunday September 10 2006, 5:30 pm: I just found this on a site, "The brand was established in 1892 and became known as a supplier of rugged, outdoor gear. It was acquired by The Limited Inc. in 1988 and in 1992 was repositioned as a more fashion-oriented casual apparel business..."
So it was founded in 1892, but wasn't a clothing store at first, it was just an outdoor shop. [ which may be where that moose thing comes from, i have no clue ]. I hope I helped. [ MelLeDisko's advice column | Ask MelLeDisko A Question ]
