cheerleading apparel

Question Posted Friday August 18 2006, 7:11 pm

I'm 13 and jsut starting cheerleading this year and I was wondering: What type of clothing is good for cheerleading practice? I know definitely soffe shorts, and I also have nike sneakers. What are good brands or types of tank tops/ t-shirts are good for practice but aren't extremely expensive. Also if you have any other kinds of shorts that would help too. THanks!

I used to cheerlead and yes soffee shorts are definetly the best, i have them in every color. For the shoes, nike is fine. For the top, i suggest a really good sports bra that gives you good support and then wear a loose t-shirt or tank top over it. Hope i helped!

I'm in the marching band at school and we march like 2 hours every day in the morning (I live in Texas) so it's really hot and stuff. Most of the girls wear Soffe shorts, like you said, and either old t-shirts OR these like $5 wife beater-type tank tops you can get at Target. They're by Mossimo, I think and they come in all different colors for really cheap. Wal-Mart probably has them too. I don't really know of any other types of shorts that are better than Soffe shorts, though. Many of my friends are in dance and they wear Soffe's and wife beaters all the time to dance. Hope I helped and good luck this year :)

I would just go to K-Mart or Target or maybe even the dollar store or something and see if they're selling any tank tops or just shirts. Tank tops or those beater things would probably be the best. And the best kind of tank top in my opinion to get is to look for the kind that already have the built-in-bra. Now, I already wear a bra underneath it, but I just do it so my chest isn't jiggling all over the place or whatever, haha. But soffe shorts would be the best shorts to cheerlead in in my opinion. I hope I helped. <3

Anything you would wear for gym is fine.... soffees just any short shorts that move and are cotton are fine. and tank tops usually work best. as a said anything is fine really. I got some really cute like exercising tops at kohls and they also have them at sears and they have a good built in sports bra, are a nice breathable material, and have the racerback back on them which is pretty cool. I know cools has alot of beaters on clearace which you can check out. just the key thing is that it is easy to move it and isnt too hot.

most cheerleading attire you can get from wal-mart. if you want t-shirts and tank tops you can buy the stuff from Hanes that is cheap aand come in packs. If you are one of those ppl who hate shopping at wal-mart because its 'cheap' or whatever BS reason you have you can try any mall that has sears or jcpenny's. That's pretty much all i can think of and remember if all else fail you can google search it.

I've been cheering since i was in 3rd grade. Basically you need like at least 3-5 sports bras. They have some at walmart that are not the cheap crappy material, they are like anywhere from 10-30 and they hold you in pretty good if you know what i mean. as long as you have a good sports bra you're set. What i usually wear are tank tops that are light and are easy to work out in, stuff from target or walmart, i'm not a big spender either. Try to avoid sporting goods stores because they have really high prices and rip you off. Kohls also have good sports apparel, including soffe shorts. I have soffe shorts in every color so i would stick with them because they have a reasonable price. Good luck with cheer, tell me how it goes.
