hi there. i'm a 15 year old girl, 5'2, with a 36DD bust. i also weigh 142lbs. the thing is though i dont think i look that heavy. i'm bigger framed than most of my friends i guess you could say, but i dont exactly have like..a HUGE stomach. i'm in proportion with my chest, haha. i was wondering if this weight was normal for my age. i've been to doctors and they all said i am overweight..but if i work out i'll gain more by building muscle. i want to get down to about 135lbs by october or sooner. so my questions are.
1. am i overweight? and by how much?
2. does anyone know of any good diets?

The sight I've reasearched says you are overweight. For your short height and that large of pounds, you maybe are.
Slim Fast are a good easy start to lose weight. You might need to lose at least 10 pounds, which might be difficult, but stay at it.
Slim fast are those drinks you subitute as a meal and they are okay in flavor. Exercise each day and will get results. Your reg. meal without slim fast can be like a salad with light dressing. Stay away from sweets and POP at all time. Drink a lot of water. Do a lot of sports if you do and at the gym will be fine. Don't do a harmful diet because I've heard someone didn't eat for a while and lost the pounds, but by the time it at regular, it gained that many pounds again.

Everyone carries their weight differently so keep that in mind. Whether or not you are overweight is your choice, by this I mean you are probably borderline and if you carry your weight well I wouldn't worry about it. It should be about how you feel about yourself.
As for good diets, I have one that actually works and keeps the weight off it is not so much a diet as a lifestyle choice. It is called the GI diet, there is a book you can buy but here are the main points;
Eat 6 times a day breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack (if needed). Eat your biggest meal at breakfast, healthy snacks i.e. yougurt, fruit, granola, smaller lunch and even smaller dinner.
Don't cut all "treats" out, it is not a matter of eliminating them but of having a smaller portion and only once in a while. Also make sure you are drinking minimum 8 glasses of water a day. This really does help.
holahayley56 answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 4:58 pm: Hmmm. I don't really think you are, because you have such a large bust. Lose 5 pounds & see how you look. If you think you look fine .. then who cares, like what the doctors think. 5 pounds, makes a big difference.
I don't really know any good diets, persay. But, i know great ways not to gain any weight & probaly lose some =)
-Get enough sleep. People, without enough sleep, tend to eat more.
-Go for an hour long walk every single day.
-Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day [OMG. YOU'LL LOSE SOOO MUCH WEIGHT]
-dancing for an hour burns up 300 calories =)
-not eating alot, ha duh.
-dont eat any junk food. & youll see a huge difference.
SHELBYcrunkpants answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 3:34 pm: Unforetunately, yes you are overwieght.
A healthy weight for your height would be around 130 pounds.
A good diet would just be normal eating. Ill explain it if you dont know what Im talking about.
You should be able to eat when you are hungry and continue eating until you are satisfied. Normal eating isnt necessarily restricted to three meals a day. There should be no problem with eating between meals provided you are aware of what you are eating and physically make the choice to eat it. One theory says that eating between meals smooths the blood sugar level and is in fact beneficial. In the end, it boils down to eating foods that are good for you and following a regular exercise program. Its all a question of balance. Dsaramina answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 2:51 pm: Well your bmi (body mass indicator) says that you are overweight but not actually by that much.
Considering your bust size I think the weight you are at right now is perfectly fine. You said yourself you are in proportion with your chest so you probably look good the way you are right now. Although you do gain more when you build muscle, you actually look better because your body becomes toned. Weight isn't that big of a deal as long as you are healthy and arn't extremely over or underweight.
As for diets, I would just reccomend working out. It really does help make you look better. If possible join a sports team. Also if you can go for lots of jogs.
That site helps you keep track of your calorie intake and how many calories you are burning a day by activity. It will tell you if you are meeting the healthy requirements. So try that out, it can help regulate your diet. [ Dsaramina's advice column | Ask Dsaramina A Question ]
