Eyebrows

Question Posted Wednesday August 16 2006, 12:22 pm

Ok. This might be a bit long but please, read.

Since I was so stupid, I decided to SHAVE my eyebrows instead of plucking. So now I'm stuck with little hairs poking around my eyebrows. Then I continued to shave the little hairs and it just looks terrible. So then I started plucking the little hairs like I was supposed to. But my question(s) are these:

How can I make it so it doesn't hurt so badly?

And, when I shaved them, I did them totally wrong and small and they gah. It's just so bad.

How can I get them to look good and thin?

Thanks. :(

ohh never use ice.. it seems logical, but ice closes the pores making the root harder to get out bc. the pores are tight. i also suggest doing it after you get out of the shower becuase hot water/steam opens your pores. you can do this or take a hot washcloth and put that on your face until its nice and hot. and after your dont you can apply lotion and ice to redce swelling and redness. there are eyebrow stencils you can buy at any drugstore that can help with that. just wait a while until your hairs have grown back ehough, take a stencil and fill it in with a dark brown color and pluck everything else thats not colored in. (you can get waterproof so you can still use the hot water thing and it not come off) and then you can wash it off with eye makeup remover or soap to see how it looks. hope i helped! i was in that same delimma too exept i plucked waaayyy too thin. oops. good luck!

Never shave your eyebrows. But that is okay you didnt know that and you learned from your flaw. When plucking eyebrows it will hurt. I find if you take a warm towel and lay it on your eyebrow for a little before it will help. Also a great way is to have one hand press on the root of a hair while the other hand plucks that hair. It works for me I hope it works for you.

you have to let them grow out before you can because they're not long enough to pluck yet and then my advice would be to go get them waxed and then pluck the little hairs that come back after that and just go get them waxed every month. for now just pencil in your eyebrows so you can't tell as much too.

For making it not hurt so badly, you have a few options.

Ice it before you pluck.
Put lotion on them before or after, whatever works for you.
Pluck right after a shower.
Pluck in the direction the hairs go.

My advice for making them look good is let them keep growing out but pluck the hairs you dont want. To make them look normal while they are growing, draw them on. Once they are fully grown out and you have been plucking stray hairs you dont want they should look pretty good or okay. Then you can go get them professionally done.

Goodluck!

Well, for starters, when you pluck your eyebrows, make sure you pluck them in the direction they are growing. That will help so it doesnt hurt as much. Also, rub some lotion on them to stop the itching and stinging a little.
If you want them to be perfect, go to a profeshional to get them waxed or plucked (pluck is probably less painful:recomended). As they grow back, just keep plucking them with the solutions above, they will be looking great in no time!
hope this helps:)

Hm..for a way to not make it hurt so badly is by doing it right after you come out of the shower..and you really shouldn't pluck unless you have some idea of the shape you want for your eyebrows.

I, myself, has had a E.E.P. (Embarressing Eyebrow Problem. Yes, so many people have had it that scientests have decided to name it. no, I'm just kidding haha.) I use to just pull the hairs out. It was habitual. (I love saying that because it has the word bitch in it.) And it looked horribe! But the grew back, I got them waxed, and my friends (girls, haha.) go "Ally, I love your eyebrows!" Seriously!! So what I think you should do is let the ones that are all tiny grow back, and then go get your eyebrows waxed, honest to god, it hurts way less then plucking, and the first time it's gonna hurt, but after awhile you get use to it and the hairs will stop coming in as fast. You could go to your hairdresser or your mom's hairdresser or something? They probably do waxing too.
Well good luck on your journey, and if you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Ice it before, it really helps with the pain. Besides that, I don't really know what would help.

And, when I shaved them, I did them totally wrong and small and they gah. It's just so bad.

I did that once. They looked HORRIBLE! Here's what I did to cover up, take some eyeliner that's similar to your eyebrow color, or blend 2 if there's 2 that are close. Fill in where your "old" eyebrows used to be, and then blend it so it doesn't look so weird. In the meantime, you'll have to wait for the hairs to grow back. Here's a list of foods that help with hair growth: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

How can I get them to look good and thin?

Here's what I did yesterday, they look great! First, I take a white eyeliner pencil, and draw lines where I want the hair to stop. On the arch, I draw just under it, and pluck out any hairs that I don't want there. On the sides, I take the pencil a and draw a line to match up the inside corner of my eye. This is where my eyebrow will start. If you don't like that, then wash off the line put it where you want it to start. I do the same thing on the outside, but only I like mine to be a little bit longer than my eye.

I hope I helped!
