The small fattie.

Question Posted Monday July 31 2006, 12:28 pm

Ok. Im thirteen years old and I'm around 125-130 lbs. I'm not sayint i'm fat, I am just really muscular in my legs. Although, I do have alot of, un-wanted fat in my stomach. My mom says I don't need to loose weight, but that is what moms are supposed to say. I look at my friends, or family, and they are so much smaller than me. Me and my best friends share clothes all the time. But my clothes seem to be a little baggy on her. I always feel so bad. :( My question is, what are some ways I can loose weight? I would like a detailed answer please, not just "eat right and work out." thankyou so much in advance. :)

ive got the same problem...no fat in your legs and it alll just goes to your stomache the best you can do is stop soda all together lemonade water juice and milk are the easiest things to replace soda with. also when you get taller your torso will level everything out as for now cut down on salty things like chips pretzels and the rest of that kind of crap.

Some ways to lose weight are 1)Cut all fat, sugary foods like candy 2)Don't drink soda and replace it with water 3)Don't eat a lot of pasta and bread 4)For your workout do crunches, leg lifts for like half an hour 5)Grill or boil your food avoid fried meat 5)Don't try fad diets because there's a big chance you'll gain the weight back again.

Hey!

A great way to avoid stubborn belly fat is to avoid all foods that have High Fructose Corn Syrup and Partially Hydrogenated Fats. Those really can help put on the weight, so cutting them out is really good for you.

Get out and swim! Swimming tones muscles really good and gets fat away after 30 minutes.

As with all exercises, you need to exercise 30 minutes plus to start burning fat.

Biking and running are great ways to help burn it off too.

Subsitute unhealthy snacks with healthy ones, like pieces of NATURAL REAL cheese, like mozzerella, not anything that comes out of a can or like that! Eat pieces of fruit, like strawberries.

Do abdominal exercises, like crunches, situps and the bicycle. Plenty of websites can give you ideas on those!

hi, im 14 and i have totally been there. i was the same weight as you at that age. (the begining of 7th grade) and now im gonig to be a freshman. but, i have ADD and i have to take these pills to help me concentrate and it makes me lose my appitite and i didn't want to eat as much and i lost so much weight, i went from 126 to like 99 in a matter of weeks. it wasn't good for me at all. i lost all my muscle and i was week. and the worst of all, everyone thought i had an eating disorder. when i didn't. i just think its a good idea for you to just limit what ou eat, eat healthy stuff. but dont lose too much at a time.

good luck.

always, Breana.

Hey dude, I've felt the same way for a long time. I've always felt that I wasn't nessecarily fat, just bigger than all my friends. I made the desicion to loose wieght this summer and so far I lost eleven pounds. Here's what I did-
1.) I started going to the track about four or five times a week. I tried to do three or four miles each time. It's difficult when you first start, but it get smuch easier as you keep going. Just a prewarning though, when you start running, it may mess up your menstrual cycle, as in make it dissapear all together for a while. Missing one isn't too bad, but if you miss more than one, you may wanna see a doctor before you continue running. But DON'T FORGET TO STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER! I forgot and I pulled a muscle in my left leg.
2.) I stopped eating fast food alltogether. I would occassionally have a french fry or a bite of a burger, but I no longer went to McDona;ds once a week. I started having subway more often instead. I also quit eating pizza and soda.
No soda. No soda at all. Not even diet sodas.
3.) I cut down on snacking. I no longer ate potato chips and doritoes and instead had wheat thins. What thins are seriously a god send.
4.) Don't forget about fruits and veggies. Those are good alternatives to chips and sweets.
I know it sounds hard, but it gets easier as you go along. All it takes is willpower.
Best of luck to you,
-Kayla Jay.

Well i have the same dam problem as you. my ass is so dam big and i hate it because i like hollister and i can't go there cause my ass don't fit in the jeans. anyways, back to you. ( lol ) get zone pilates. Thats what i just ordered off the TV. it helps sculpt your thighs, stomach, and arms. People say crunches and situps help to but you have to do like 200 a day. that's alittle exteme if you ask me. If you want to tightin your but do squats. I know you didnt want this but eating healthy does help. If you drink alot of soda then just drink water for a week it will help trust me. Or stick with water forever. I heard bread makes you gain weight so try to stay away from that. Greasy foods like Mcdonalds , arent healthy either. Which leads me to the next thing. I highly suggest you get this book it's called " chew on this " it tells you about how fast food isnt good for you. And also walking around the block or riding a bike for like 30 minutes helps. i heard when you work out you get fatter and then start getting skinnier.

well hope i helpd.

hey, well like the other girl said dont compare yourself to other people. just take a look in the mirror and decide if your really truly fat or if you just want to loose a little weight. then do sit-ups and run around the block. make sure to eat every meal because if you dont your body will go into starvation mode. eat responisbly tho.
maybe get more active.

First of all, are you really fat? Don't compare yourself with other people, everyone's bodies are built differently, and that's why they maybe seem smaller than you. Do you still want to lose weight? Well, if you do, I really recommend that you lose the weight naturally. Don't take any pills or things like that to lose weight, they may sometimes work but it's really unhealthy to do that. You should just excercise and maintain a good diet. You can excericise by doing, for example, thirty sit-ups a day, every day. Or maybe jogging, or even biking. As long as you keep doing excercise a little bit at a time, every day, you'll lose weight. For your diet, try eating fruits more often, and ignore the temptations of eating junkfood as much. Hope that helped!
