I am going to be a freshman as of aug. 24 and i really want to make a good impression on everybody. What would be a good outfit to wear on orientation and the first day? i wear mostly peppy clothes i guess rather pricey brands: like a&f ae juicy and hollister but i am going to a school that is very mixed so i dont want to look like a snaob or a slut.
Also what type of back back is best for HS right now i bought a northface backpack that is all black. would a messanger bag be good what is trendy?
im going to be a freshmen and am still thinking about what to wear to orientation and such. as a matter of fact, i wear the same clothes you do. for orientation, dont go all out. wear cute shorts, trendy tank top with a cute necklace. its casual and isnt too much. for the first day wear something classy. like jeans with a non revealing top. this is the day you show yourself, so wear one of your best tops. who cares what others think? you wear preppy clothes, and it doesnt make you a snob or a slut! i know im gonna wear preppy clothes on the first day of school. messenger bags are cute, but i like the northface backpack. its perfect for HS. send me your sn so we can talk. my school begins on the same day too! hope i helped

StarryNightSkies answered Friday July 28 2006, 1:53 pm: Wow i remember freshman year just wear a cute outfit maybe like bermuda shorts and a tank with a half cut jacket... that way its simple and doesn't make you look snobby or slutty. although messanger bags are cute they are a pain in the ass! its hard to lug them around everywhere and they take up so much space... i suggest a bag like a tote
jazziepink_09 answered Friday July 28 2006, 12:28 pm: wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Be yorself . remember that. more people will like you if you like you. so wear what you think you look good in. and messanger bags are cute . [ jazziepink_09's advice column | Ask jazziepink_09 A Question ]
NoLies_JustLove answered Friday July 28 2006, 12:28 pm: Hm .. well I would say for the orientation, wear something nice but comfortable, because it's still summer. Maybe wear capris, flip-flops, and a nice t-shirt from hollister or abercrombie. For your first day, wear a cute skirt or your best pair of jeans or capris. For the first day, buy a shirt that you really like in a color that you look good in. I know right now the store American Eagle has a bunch of capris on sale.
For a backpack, a messanger bag would be good. They have alot of messenger bags at PacSun. But just to warn you, if you carry a lot of books, the messenger bag could be annoying because when it's really heavy it tends to hurt your shoulder after carrying it for awhile. You could carry around a beach tote-type bag, like the ones that you carry like a purse, alot of people in my school do that. They have alot of those bags at Aeropostale, PacSun, American Eagle, and Hollister. Have fun and good luck. =) [ NoLies_JustLove's advice column | Ask NoLies_JustLove A Question ]

Igotamonopoly answered Friday July 28 2006, 6:37 am: To my freshman orientation a year ago, I wore a polo and jeans.
Our orientations are a lot of walking//standing in the sun, so I didn't want to be too hot.
Maybe something that you'd normally wear is a good idea. Don't wear something unlike what you'd wear anyway. Maybe you know people there and you can see what they wear and go by that.
And as for backpacks, Jansports are almost the only brand at my school. The ones with the big pocket and little pocket are most popular. Bright colors, patterns, and black are most popular.
Messenger bags are going out. Also, they put a lot of weight on one shoulder so they can make you lopsided if you always wear it on one side.
cecaaa answered Friday July 28 2006, 2:42 am: Belts cinched at the waist are very in right now, and i think its adorable!
If I were you I would wear a tube top with a wide belt cinched at the waist with some nice dark jeans and heels. You don't need a necklace, just wear some fun earrings. Here is a picture to show what I mean:
I wore an outfit similar to this to my orientation and got many compliments!! Plus, there are no labels on the top or belt so no one can call you a snob because they won't know whether it is designer or not.
If you think this is showing too much skin you could always throw a cute jacket on top of it, but thats up to you. Good luck at orientation! [ cecaaa's advice column | Ask cecaaa A Question ]
clarayow answered Friday July 28 2006, 2:05 am: First of all, I think you should get a messenger bag. Get bags of different types to suit different clothings and create different styles to your dressing.
You can wear jeans, a halter top plus a kind of smart looking jacket(with a collar and short sleeved) that reaches only to your mid chest. You know what i mean?
Plus, you can wear belts that are special. For eg, you can use your scarf, tie or any sash as a belt. Its something simple yet creative.
And also, I have a rule which I abide by when I wear accesories: Don't wear dangling earrings if you're wearing necklaces or beads and vice versa if not you'd look overdressed; esp if you are dressed in smart casual style. [ clarayow's advice column | Ask clarayow A Question ]
