I want to look completely different but not like goth more like preppy. Also, I have no idea what to wear on the first day...we cant wear spagetti straps or skirts above the knee. Thanks in advance :]

Lilly Pulitzer
Vineyard Vines
Chanel
Hollister
abercrombie
POLO ralph lauren
use palet colours and light pinks and greens. i would def. go for lilly pulitzer on the first day, its so original and you will be the best dressed! :)
emster812 answered Monday July 24 2006, 12:53 pm: I just wanted to give some info for clothes on the first day. Make sure you wear whatever it is you plan to wear before the first day of school. A lot of embarrasing episodes have happened where girls wear brand new clothes on the first day, have an unexpected wardrobe malfunction, and then have to call home for another change of clothes. So just letting you know, don't wear something you have only worn once-in the dressing room. :) [ emster812's advice column | Ask emster812 A Question ]
holahayley56 answered Monday July 24 2006, 12:15 pm: I suggest Abercrombie & Fitch all the way.
There not plane jane, but they don't over do it. I love their clothings with a huge passion. Since everyone wears it, you'll defently look more stylish. & its also very grown up looking the shirts are sometimes lower cut, but it's just an all around older look. Its a very preppy store. Abercrombie is kinda expensive there. I only get stuff there, when my mom buys it for me.I would never spend my own money there. If you shop smart there, you can get good deals. All their clearance stuff.. is like cheap. Well, not cheap.. but affordable. If you can fit into Abercrombie kids...then its even cheaper. I can fit into it, but i like abercrombie & fitch better. But, its like a whole lot cheaper.. you can get shirts for like 10 dollars. there sizes only go to like XL which is like a 16. If you've ever been to LTD2, there sizes are the same. [well now ltd2 has plus sizes] but whateverr..hollister, is cheaper then abercrombie. but i also think there clothing looks cheaper too. Like the mmaterial & stuff.
It depends if you're mom will buy it for you or not. But, if you're mom wont buy you abercrombie.. thenn hollisters your next best thing. Of course you cant see anything in there.
ok im done, i hate hollister =) but whateverr.
for back to school.. i suggest jeans [ripped if you can] & a tshirt from abercrombie or hollister. I go to a catholic school, so i cant be major help there. ohh & to add on to your outfit, wear some accesories =)
duudee_advicer answered Monday July 24 2006, 9:46 am: I have somewhat style, people tell me they like my outfits all the time, here's where I shop.
-Hollister, ( try the clearence section in the back for cheap, but cute stuff )
-Abercrombie, ( same )
-Forever 21.
-Charlotte Russe
-Wet Seal
-Rue21
Surprisingly enough,I just bought a pair of orginially price American Rag jean at $112, at Ross for only 16$ and nobody knows that I got them for so cheap. So, sometimes, stores like that have really designer clothes you can get for cheap, just keep your eye out for them. [ duudee_advicer's advice column | Ask duudee_advicer A Question ]

BluMonkE835 answered Monday July 24 2006, 8:38 am: Delia's, Aeropostale, Alloy, Old Navy, and a bunch of other stores sell some really cool clothes. They are also really affordable. You can also look at different catologs and stuff because they usually advertise cool stuff. [ BluMonkE835's advice column | Ask BluMonkE835 A Question ]
orphans answered Monday July 24 2006, 8:37 am: if its standing out more you're trying to do, id lean more towards a lot of bright & happy colors. accessories can really make or break an outfit. try adding a beaded bracelet from claires or something with an outfit, they have a lot of colors to choose from and its an easy way to look more coordinated. always make sure your shoes are darker than your outfit. if you get a new belt, make sure its at least an inch longer than the first belt loop, otherwise it will make you look wide. add a pair of small heels with a plain outfit to make it look more stylish, or maybe flats if heels arent your thing.
