I'm scarred for my friend!
My bff has not started her period and won't be starting it until another 2 years or so, (thats the expected time because her mom had her period at the age of 15)Anyways she is 12 going on 13, she as well as I are being pressured into sex by people from our school, from girls as well as guys saying its feels good e.t.c.,But i'm waiting til i'm married. She wants to have sex with her boyfriend and she said she won't get pregnant because she doesn't have her period yet.And I have been told you can only get pregnant if you have your period. Is that true? Can she avoid pregnancy since she don't have her period?I'm sorry this is long its just she's only 12 and I don't want her to get pregnant.Please help!Any advice or ideas would help!!

if she has never started her period then no she cannot get pregnant what so ever, although she should still use a condom just incase she happens to start her period while sex or before without realizing it, unlikely..but it could happen. and for the other question about only being able to get pregnant on your period? thats not true. if your trying to get pregnant [which your around the age of 13 and im pretty sure ur not] then its best if you are on your period but if your not on your period and have sex then yes there is a chance that you can get pregnant its not as high of a chance as if you were on your period but there is still a good chance. but if you have NEVER started your period then you absolutely CANT get pregnant there is no chance.. hope i helped =]

just because you haven't started the actual bleeding doesn't mean anything. my mom didn't have her period until she was about 15 and i started when i was 12. you can still be menstrating and get pregnant. you can also get std's. it's always best to wait until you find somebody you actually love. plus, it's illegal for anybody under the age of 16 to have sex.

I think everyone else has pretty much answered the pregnancy question, I just wanted to let you know about the psychological damage that having sex this young will have on her for the rest of her life, it sounds like she is not ready and is being pressured to have sex. You should have a serious talk with her and if she says she will do it even though she is not sure or that its because she is being pressured I think you should talk to her mom, or an adult at school maybe like a counselor who can't repeat what she is told. This is serious 12 is way to young and it is something she will always regret.

she is having sex pretty young actually but oh wel i cant really talk there i lost my at 13 but anyways you have nothing to worry about..if she doesn't have her period yet she wont get pregnant but if she is gunna keep having sex when she ends up geting her period then you never know she'll have to watch out and when she first has sex .she might bleed cause he mightve popped her cherry but i hope i helped you hun :]

Your right she is 12 she's way to young even though... nevermind. So yeah i have been told you can still have sex. Remember it is her decision. Not yours. It's good to care so much about your friend. She can not get pregnant. Try as hard as you can to convince her not to, but if gets out of hand i think you should tell her mom. She is way to young!

you can only get pregnany if yyou have your period. although they should use protection (condoms) shes only 12!! thats very young. im 15 and im pregnant. but tell your friend to think about what she is doing its her descion on what she does decide to do. but you dont want her sleeping around with alot of guys. she could pick up and StD. good luck

first of all.. your friend shouldnt be having sex at the age of 12 anyways.. im 14 now and i havnt and dont plan on it for a while.. but to answer your question..
yes you can get pregnant even if you havent gotten your period.. to get ready to have your first period the egg will come ddown and sit to wait and be fertalized by the male when it doesnt get fertilized then it will come out and you will get your period.. this happenes every month. Also it doesnt matter that her mother got her period at the age of 15 its when your bodys ready to have it.. when its matured. she could get hers now if her body was ready.
if i were you i would try and talk your friend out of having sex because 1 she is way to young and 2 its dangerous as well.. it could cause internal bleeding viruses and deseases. also AIDs is passed through having sex. and neither you nor your friend know if her boyfriend has AIDs or not.
have her research some things online.. i dont mean porn sites. just look up some things about having sex that might make her not want to. or you could look up things and tell her.
if she still wants to have sex make sure her boyfriend wears a condom. also condoms dont work %100 of the time. there could be a rip in it that you cant see or it could break.

Well she's only 12 and peer presher is very common at that age so its normal she doesnt have to if doesnt want to.She can just make up a rumor that she did have sex but she really didnt and she cant pregnet.
