i have heard different things and i could use some good strong opinions (not flames, dont leave me bruised and battered) on bisexuality from a christian standpoint. i fear i may actually have to read the WHOLE Bible (LONG!) to form my own opinion to be honest. i just know alot of ppl interpret the Bible differently.
thanks in advance
caroline-rose answered Monday April 30 2007, 4:24 pm: i dont really think its wrong, im not being biased just becuase im bisexual myself. but i think that if you really love the person then gender doesnt matter at all. and if i beleived in god i think he'd want people to be happy no matter what.and if they're happily in love with the same gender i think he'd say "so be it" [ caroline-rose's advice column | Ask caroline-rose A Question ]

Sadie63341 answered Monday July 17 2006, 12:20 am: Homosexuality (or bisexuality) is wrong in God's eyes (says the Bible). A man should not lay with a man in the way he does a woman, and a woman should not lay with a woman in the way she does with a man. That means lustfully, sexually, etc. If you are having thoughts about someone that is the same sex, you can talk to a preacher or pray to God and ask Him to help you. Reading the whole Bible would only confuse me.. so I'd say that the best answer (from me at least) is listed above. [ Sadie63341's advice column | Ask Sadie63341 A Question ]
Helpful answered Sunday June 25 2006, 9:01 pm: I believe that God made us man and woman so that we can bring children into this world and raise them in His gospel. He did not make us so that a man and a man or a woman and a woman will pair together. Just look at how our bodies are built. Hope I helped you. [ Helpful's advice column | Ask Helpful A Question ]
Krupple answered Tuesday June 20 2006, 2:05 am: Don't listen to other people who answered and said the Bible doesn't say anything about homosexuality.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
This was later changed in the New Testiment and God says that Homosexuality is a forgivable sin. You can be homosexual, bi, or lesbian, but you shouldn't act on it. [ Krupple's advice column | Ask Krupple A Question ]

powertrash answered Monday June 19 2006, 7:44 pm: Heya.
There are six Bible passages that deal with homosexual behaviour. BIsexuality isn't mentioned specifically, however. I'd also like to point out that homosexuality as we understand it today was never mentioned in the Bible. Homosexuality, as defined by a person who is SOLELY ATTRACTED TO ONES OWN GENDER, is never mentioned. This idea--that boys can only like boys and girls only like girls--was almost "created" in the 19th century. Before that, homosexual behaviour was only seen as behavior and the idea that people could prefer their own gender wasn't really understood.
The legitimacy of the six Bible passages is in dispute though. There are many homosexual (and bisexual) people who believe that God doesn't have anything negative to say about homosexuality. Sodom and Gomorrah is the first "mention", though that story has been interpreted in various ways. Leviticus, the most popular verse, is found in the book that also says that if a woman commits adultery, we should stone her and that wearing mixed fabrics are a sin...most of the rules there are archaic and out of date and no one lives by them. Christians believe that they were freed from the rules of Leviticus when Jesus died.
I don't really feel like typing everything up about the last four passages, so here are some links that might help you out.
Anyway. Remember, Jesus never said homosexual behavior was wrong. And if it was SUCH AN ISSUE, I'm sure he would have mentioned it. He was much more concerned about loving your neighbor, loving God and serving the Lord. The Bible talks most about MONEY and what you do with it, funnily enough. Ironic as some of the most gay-hating Christians are rich...and donating only a small percent of their money to the poor.
Answerman answered Monday June 19 2006, 7:44 pm: well bascially being homosexual is an abomination to GOD and thats bad and being bisexual is basically homosexuality so its wrong [ Answerman's advice column | Ask Answerman A Question ]
tasuki answered Monday June 19 2006, 7:30 pm: Yeah, it's not in the Bible. The Bible was written many, many years before there was a word for "homosexuality" or "bisexuality". Put it this way--you can choose your religion, but you can't choose your sexuality. If you don't like Christianity because you feel it infringes on who you are, that's fine. But there are some Christians I've met who have no problem with bisexuals, and are actually very vocal about how it's NOT a sin. Religion is pretty twisted actually, since all throughout history the political leaders changed it to suit their needs. I personally am not a Christian, but I do know the basics, and I'm pretty sure that Jesus wouldn't have cared if someone was bisexual. And I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to pray to a God who said I was going to hell for being the way that I am (which happens to be bisexual).
blue_sunlyte answered Monday June 19 2006, 7:03 pm: I don't know any specific bible readings on bisexuality, however there are a few that you can look up that are directed at homosexuality and can be applied to the christians teachings of both bisexuality and homosexuality:
Genisis 19 - Homosexuality brought death...
Leviticus 18:22 - God forbids homosexual realationships...
Romans 1:18-32 - The penalty for homosexual relationships...
I hope these readings enlighten you on how bisexuality and homosexuality is perceived in the bible, and i'm sure the messages are perfectly clear and apparent. [ blue_sunlyte's advice column | Ask blue_sunlyte A Question ]
stillstella answered Monday June 19 2006, 6:47 pm: If you read in Genesis it clearly states how God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Adam or Eve and Eve. People can interpret the Bible all the ways they want to but there is only one truth and that is acting in bisexuality is a sin. Now I'm not saying that people who are bisexuals are bad because every sin is equal. Being bisexual is equal to telling a lie. Either way they are both sins.
