xx_Dreamer answered Tuesday June 20 2006, 3:00 pm: Freshman year isn't as bad as it seems [i'm a junior now]. I loved it. It was a bit overwhelming, though. Of course, the school I went to was big.. and crowded [so you had to rush to get to class on time]. The first few weeks are a bit stressful [because you need to get used to this new atmosphere. your not locked up like you were in middle school]. It's really fun, though. You make tons of new friends [but keep in touch with the old ones].. and everything's just great. There is a lot of drama, though, so just stay out of it and it'll all be fine. ;D
itsz_JESS answered Sunday June 18 2006, 7:50 pm: okay well i just ended my freshman year, and its really not that bad, in fact.. it was really fun and i liked it much better than junior high. if you have enemies in grades higher than you, then that may be kinda bad but other than that, its not bad! you make friends easily and get along just great. good luck! karie28 answered Saturday June 17 2006, 7:07 am: Gosh....you gotta love high school. I had the best--and not to mention the worst--days of my life over the past three years(i'm a senior right now(i live in a tropical country that's why school already started here)).
I was really nervous during the first day of my high school life because I was sooo afraid of change Back Then. But once I have dealed with every change that was in font of me, I started to embrace--no, make that LOVE-- change!
I would say that high school may seem like a jungle at times, but you would really enjoy it once you have fully adapted to the environment.
In high school, you will meet the BEST people that will be your Real friends forever, but be ready to meet the WORST,too.
Remember to keep an open mind and have fun making new friends!
HectorJr answered Friday June 16 2006, 10:33 pm: Fun! Relax and don't be afraid. After the third week you'll be used to it and it won't seem that different from regular school. You do have your work cut out for you, but who doesn't? It will probably the easiest thing in high school ever, so relax! Everyone is feeling the same way, really. Nobody is going in there knowing the place already, and its not like everyone is friends with everyone else except you. For me it was pretty easy, maybe too easy. It was good cause nobody was friends with anyone else, so you could talk to anyone. Teachers usually cut you a break because they know you're new and stuff. No need to worry, just make sure you don't slack off on your work and don't cross the line with rules/people. Hope that helped and good luck. [ HectorJr's advice column | Ask HectorJr A Question ]
t0xicParadiSe answered Friday June 16 2006, 10:23 pm: I just finished my freshman year and to be honest with you it wasn't that hard. If you stick with the right crowd then believe me you'll do just fine. The most stressing thing is all the finals you get at the end of each semester. Of course it varies on the school and the teachers you get. Don't worry about it, I know you may feel so nervous and scared right now but there really isn't anything to worry about.
LoveNJstyle answered Friday June 16 2006, 9:48 pm: It's really not that bad. For me it was challenging because I went from a super easy school to a school with endless homework haha. For some the transition was a lot easier but also for some it was hard. it all depends on how well you can adjust and how open you are to new things and friends. Don't be scared...go into it with an open mind. the first couple of days might be long and kinda boring but once everyone gets to know each other and stuff, it gets to be a lot more fun! <3 [ LoveNJstyle's advice column | Ask LoveNJstyle A Question ]
DefinedEyes answered Friday June 16 2006, 9:47 pm: It was great, I go to a private school, so I dont know, but the person who wrote before me was right, it depends on the school.
See, the good parts are you meet TONS of new people! And make lots of new friends, you have new classes, new oppertunies to do things you havent, dont worry about it though. Usually your freshman year, they let you start before the sophmore, juniors, and seniors, so you can have the day to yourself ot find your way around, thats what my school did atleast.
Just as silly as this sounds, be nice to the uperclassman, dont be cocky, because they are older and some of them are really mean, but there are always mean people in each grade.
So just go with a good attitude and be excited, your freshman year will be a blast! [ DefinedEyes's advice column | Ask DefinedEyes A Question ]
tasuki answered Friday June 16 2006, 9:44 pm: Varies from school to school. Mine was not that bad. You get used to it after a few days, trust me. People might call you "stupid frehman" but they don't actually care. My advice...don't have a huge backpack stuffed with books. You get seriously made fun of for that, and it's hard to move in the hallway. Just carry a couple of books at a time and use your locker. But really, it's NOT that bad. There's nothing to be scared of, and high school will be over before you know it. [ tasuki's advice column | Ask tasuki A Question ]
