Hallo!
O.K. so here's the deal. My brother takes me to school each morning in his car. Usually we would just leave at the last second, and get there in time. Now, we're leaving 30 minutes earlier to pick up his friend. I was o.k. with it, but now they're starting to smoke in the car and I get to school with my clothes smelling like smoke. Normally, I would just ask him to stop, but during last summer him and his ex-girlfriend had a baby when he was sixteen, and now I just feel bad for him a lot and I would feel guilty for asking him, because it's probably his way of dealing with the baby (Not that it's the right way.) What should I do?
P.S. not only do I need advice, I give advice, too. So if you need me..uh then yeah :) PL
orphans answered Thursday June 15 2006, 5:29 pm: I used to have the same problem, too. There are several things you can do:
1) Find a different way to school. There's the bus, for one, and if you have any friends that would be willing to pick you up, you can ask them, too.
2) Ask him to stop. Sure, it probably is his way to deal with stress, but if it's stressing you out to be smelling like smoke, I'm sure he could find other ways to let his stress out when around you.
3) You could always buy some sort of body spray, though most of the time these just mask the smell instead of getting rid of it, and end up making it even worse. If his car smells like smoke though, you could always buy a car freshener thingy or some Fibreeze (sp?).
I hope you can get him to stop smoking though :) It might relieve stress, but it's really bad for him anyway, especially with a baby around. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

I think he could last 30 minutes without a cigarrette. [ xxoBriannax's advice column | Ask xxoBriannax A Question ]
Notso answered Thursday June 15 2006, 4:57 pm: buy a car air freshner, like one of those febreze auto things. I think they might have ones specifically made for cigarette smoke. It's also a subtle way to get your point across.
I would consider asking him to cut down around you though. Second hand smoke is not good for you, and being trapped in a car of it is even worse. [ Notso's advice column | Ask Notso A Question ]
lilly_pads79 answered Thursday June 15 2006, 3:05 pm: I have this problem too. Perfume and body spray makes it smell worse. Have them drop you off about 5 minutes earlier, then once you get there walk around for a while it will air out the smell. Hope for the best!
BriZeeme2 answered Thursday June 15 2006, 2:52 pm: don't think about it that much and well lets see bring a bottle of perfume and you should smell good as new
DefinedEyes answered Thursday June 15 2006, 2:20 pm: Well if his car already smells like smoke,
then even if they smoke a day or not, you'll stil smell like it.
So I suggest finding another way to school? Or asking your brother to stop, dont feel bad, beacuse it was still his choice to have sex at that age. He took his own risk. [ DefinedEyes's advice column | Ask DefinedEyes A Question ]
