invasion of privacy..

Question Posted Monday June 12 2006, 4:56 pm

ok so im your tipical f/14. i have kissed a guy and all that good stuff but im not a slut. i kept some notes from recent years that i didnt want anyone to see. well i keep them in a box thats ALWAYS locked. one day i left it open and i went to school. my mom went in the room that was it and read EVERY SINGLE NOTE. now she has gone to far. shes done stuff like this before but not this bad. im about to either run away or just block her out of my life. shes pissed at me for not talking to her about "stuff" and im pissed at her for going through my "stuff" no matter what in my opion she should have never looked at any of the stuff it had nothing to do with her. shes made me so upset, i cried and my blood pressure is so high my face is as red as a tomato and has been like this for about 2 hours. i cant eat im so upset. i dont know what to do but this stuff is getting old FAST!

HELP before i go insane...

Don hate me for this answer but i think you kinda should let your mom into a bit more of what goes on in your life (NOT EVERYTHING)but some stuff just so she can get off your case a bit -she shouldnt invade ypur privacy like that but it just goes to show yhat she actually cares about you and that shes worried that at this age you might be experiensing these new things
but whatever case im just a 14 year old to so

So you may hate me for this. But you should have let her know a little. Not everything. Theres stuff I've done before that my mom doesnt know. And she never will. This is going to sound corny - but your mom just cares about you. She shouldnt have gotten that mad. But sometime you should maybe sit down and talk to her about it.

Hi, parents can be so annoying sometimes, I know. They invade our privacy and can look at things that hav'nt much to do with them. Just tell her that you would'nt mind a little more privacy around your things. She probaly wants to know that your O.K and not doing anything stupid. This is a very common situation for teens, PRIVACY. She will probaly always look out for you no matter what age you are. You need to let her know how you feel, and how much its upsetting you. Remember things like, boyfriends, and your love life and circle of friends is your buisness. But your parents might want to have a big say in your life until you are considered grown up to them e.g 18, 20, 21. Tell them how it makes you feel. Honesty is the best word. Daniel.

Tell your mom firmly, not rudely that she needs to stop invading in your life. Tell her your growing up, and you need your own space. Ask her how she would feel if her mom did this to her when she was your age. Make her feel bad. Hope I helped!:-)

Talk to your mom, say 'Hey Mom, I'm sorry that I don't talk to you that much, but you've got to understand that I'm growing up and you've got to let go of me sometime, and I can't tell you EVERYTHING. Do you tell me everything? Probably not, but its the same thing with me. I didn't like how you raided my room like that because it really hurt me because I felt like you couldn't trust me. I hope that we can work this out.' and act a little sad, maybe add a little pout. ;)

Best of luck!

I think tht you should tell your mom that she is invading your space, and maybe you could take a break somehow from eachother.

Alright, well, don't go crazy on me but...I think you're mom might have a slight point.
If you don't tell her "stuff" then she won't know how far you're privacy boundaries are- because you haven't told her. And I'm not saying tell your mom every single detail about your life, but just some of the basics. Obviously this is something for you to get upset about, but you really can't block her out and get mad at everything. Because that solves nothing. I think you should sit your mom down and tell her how big of a deal this is to you and how that was a real invasion of your privacy. You'll have a heart-to-heart conversation and she'll know not to do soemthing like that again ; because you told her. :)
