My friends think Im mental My friends really think I've got mental problems! Not seriously, but it's getting out of hand. I have always been like a kid--- i still love cartoons, video games and i still talk like a kid when im not nervous; like if around my friends, Im completely myself. And thats always been a problem because whem Im myself, Im crazy and hyper. So lately, my friends and people i hardly know from my school are saying that I have a mental problem. I know it sounds dumb, but I hate it!
I told my friend that there is nothing wrong, and they all say they are just joking around when they say i have ADD or OCD, but the other people at my school dont know this. Sure, school is almost over, but I really dont want to continue with this stupid rumor! And I can't even set the record straight that I have no problem, because the rumor is based on how I act, which is kidishly. I really cant sit still or I play with things and I make up wacko words.
Is there a way to show, well sure, im not normal, but just not crazy? Thanks.

Okay the best way to get rid of rumors is to not talk about them. Because if people hear you talking abotu them, then they think.. I heard her talking about it, it must be true, you know?
So if you dont give it any attention it wont go anywhere.

OK theres nothing wrong with being "crazy". sometimes im like that. just tell your friends how you feel. if they really care then theyll (at least) try to help you turn things around.

also if one of your friends started the rumor there not your friend and lastly who gives a CRAP what people think thats stupid. think about what you are saying before you let it get to you.

Hi, alot of teenagers act childish. In fact some don't grow up until they're like 25. It's just a teenage phase your going through. If it was mental, then I think 90% of all teenagers in the world would be mental. Most teenagers act daft. You only have to look at people like, Jim Carrey and Mike Myers to see that. The word mental has alot to do with the brain. Your brain is'nt much different than any others really. When Bill Gates comes home from work or gets stressed out, he jumps on the trampoline really high. Elton John swears alot and has a tantrum like a small child when off stage and he's over 60 years old.
Just goes to show does'nt it. You don't sound mental to me, regardless of what your friends say. Daniel. ]
Many teenagers go through a time in their life where they're crazy and hyper most of the time, or just when they're around the people they trust the most (friends). Teenagers will always pass rumors around, most know that rumors are untrue. The best thing to do would probably just ignore the rumors. If you feel it really is a problem than go to a doctor about it. If you really don't want people thinking you're crazy anymore and you can't ignore the rumors than another thing to do would be to just be calm for a few days and when people start questioning just say that you can act 'normal' once in awhile, it's just boring.
~Hope this helped in any way. =)

Dear Im mental,
Have you thought that you might be ADD or ADHD? I am I used to act the same way to a particular medium. Another way to view things of this particular situation is to relate them to other people. Like college students for example or even high schoolers, do you know how many people in college watch cartoons on a daily basis, I know college seniors that make their class schedule around their favorite tv shows. Plus, its mostly the students that have the problem with you being yourself, trust me things such as this blow over with time. You just need to just blow off people and what they are saying about you, or else you are going to find yourself even more unhaappy and you are going to give others more of a reason to tease to.

You sound like my sister, lol.
Just ignore any rumors. They aren't worth fretting over. There isn't anything wrong with being crazy and hyper, and loving cartoons and video games.
You could, if you felt the need, educate your friends on what crazy really is. But I doubt they'd enjoy sitting through a psych lesson. ^^ ]
I'm the same way. When I'm with my friends, I get really crazy, and act like a little kid. I make up words, I play with things, I move around alot, it's just me. There were alot of people who used to look at me weird, or say I had mental problems. All I can suggest, is ignoring them. I've tried to change peoples opinion of me, but it didn't help at all, so I just learned to ignore them. Don't pay attention to them, just let them think what they want to think, especially the people you don't know, because they're just judging you without taking the time to get to know you. I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I've been through this exact thing, and just wanted to let you know how I delt with it. :-D

If lots of people are noticing this and telling you that you're crazy then maybe they're right. Heh. No one wants to believe that they might really have mental problems, but the good news is that there's treatment for almost every kind of mental illness.
Ask your parents to schedule an appointment for you with a psychologist so that you can talk to a professional. They might confirm that you're perfectly normal and healthy! If they notice that you have a disorder they can help you work through it. You don't have OCD, but you might have ADD or you might just crave attention so severely that you act crazy to get it. These things can be fixed! It's better to find out young what your issues are so that you can work them out before your brain is all hard-wired.
Girls who talk in a little girl voice usually have had a very traumatic event occur when they were young. Were you sexually assaulted as a young child? You may have even blocked out the event in your brain to help protect yourself from the memory, but it's there in you somewhere. A therapist can help you remember, face, and work through traumatic memories.
If this is your issue you really really really need to start therapy as soon as possible before you start acting out and recreating the trauma you lived through. That is the cycle of human trauma. We subconsciously seek out the kind of trauma we lived through unless we've worked it out.
Start therapy and find out why you act the way you do... it'll help and you'll be able to control your craziness.
