I find people asking "how exactly will it end?" all the time. Then referring to Revelation for literal translations of things. Point of the matter is, it doesn't matter how it ends. Its how you lived your life when it does end. The Bible says that "No one knows the time nor the day". I can't remember exactly where it says so, but it does and I believe it makes it clear that no one, but God knows when. A lot of people try to predict the date and all that, but in the end everyone comes out lookin like a fool. If you really want some insight on how the Bible writer "saw" it, then go grab one (New King James recommended) and read the last book of the Bible (Revelations). God wouldn't necessarily torture us, so much as he would just leave us or send us to a place where he isn't....and where God isn't...well, that's not a place you want to be. Have fun =). Sorry...just noticed you said that you had more than enough answers...and that this is old.

YOu shouldn't be scared just have faith in God and his son Jesus Christ. And always put God has your first because he was the one that made you and he made you for a purpose and to answer your first question God is not torturing us is because when the people that love him and have faith in him go to heaven with him. There would be a battle here because the devil is going to try to confuse people and he will have peace with the universe and he will pretend to be a believer himself and is all a lie don't let that fool you. And some people that are going to left behind are going to start believe in the bible. But the devil is not going to like that because he wants people only to believe in him. So, if you get left behind and you say you believe in God he will kill you. But you will be died in the flesh but your spirit will be in heaven partying with all those people that had faith and it as nothing to do if your good or bad it has to do with how strong is your faith and how much is it that you love God and if you tell other people about him. Do you even talk to him because even though you don't see him believe me his listening to you all the time. And i know we have moments that it feels like he isn't which that is the devil trying to tell you other wise. Pray and give thanks to give everyday for giving you what you have and read the bible once in a while and you will start to understand many things and if you need a Pastor to explain many things that we don't understand in the bible go to Bronx,New York in 2111starling ave and if you don't live in New york go to a man of God and he will explain many things to you that you don't really understand and if you have any questions about what i told you ask me and i will be very happy to help you. or if you have questions of something else i would be happy to help you in everyway that i can. I'm not an expert but I'm a believer that God is the one and only

I'm not an expert in the God category, but from what I've learned the world will end in flames. BUT the saved ones (the ones going to heaven, whatever you want to call them) will go in a blink of an eye. Then there will be fire spread across the earth. Not sure exactly on the specifics after that but I am sure someone else will have the answer. The good thing is, the ones going to Heaven will just go. They won't have to deal with any of the wrath. So if you see people (good people) disappearing, you know why!

Listen, Don't be scared and I will tell you why. Because lets say there is a Christ out there. I'm assuming that you believe very strongly in him and you most likely go to chruch but i could be wrong. Christ would love you and would invite you into his 'heaven' while the sinners are destroyed. The remainers are the evil sinners and it is God's way of punishing them. Sortof like a little kid with a magnifying glass. That's basically God, if he thinks your a bad ant your gone. That's karma. Good you live bad you die. Just another reason for you to be good ok?

giant_lizard answered Tuesday June 27 2006, 1:26 am:
man, have you ever toyed with ants' writhing bodies until they die slow, horrible, agonizing deaths that put an end to their short, pointless insect-lives? That's what we would seem like to any omnipotent being. Feelings and pain are nothing in objective reality. It is all internal and based off of your perceptions of how you feel and how you read others' feelings. I can see it being perfectly acceptable for an omnipotent being crushing all the life out of each individual being in the universe in any perverse and gory way that amuses him.

Aside from that, the end of the world will most likely have something more to do with our sun exploding and compacting into a black hole or neutron star. Or we could just run into it eventually. I'm not overly sure whether we'll run into it before or after it's expended all of its energies. By moving closer and closer to the sun, the temprature of the earth will increase exponentially (excepting of course if the sun is a black hole at the time, in which case the earth would be a cold, lifeless sphere completely unrecognizable to you or I. The actual process of the end of the world will probably be more like a process of evolution via natural selection due to climate change or any other fundimental change in the way humanity reacts with the world. We would slowly evolve into other forms of beings which would percieve the world differently. Dinosaurs didn't die out, you know, the scions of many species died out without leaving any heirs, mind you, but most avian life is decended from these beasts. The slow and omnipresent process of adaptation and survival of the fittest, so unpercievable in our limited scope will always affect us.

Though, when it comes down to the end of the world, it has more to do with your perceptions. Once you're dead and cold in the ground (or your ashes have scattered in the wind over some beloved landscape from your youth if you perfer), your world is over. Nothing exists without the perciever, and thus the world is over. Though, if this is how you choose to percieve the world, then perhaps reincarnation makes more sense, seeing as it's hard to see one percieving it any differently later.

Well this is a very difficult topic that everyone thinks about sometime. first of all it's not just the bible that refers to the end of the world. but only one person knows when it will happen, that is God. But some religions think that it will happen like the meteor shower that took out the dinosaurs, some a nuclear bomb, and some think a holy war. but what ever happens, afterward eternity will start for everyone.

If you ever read the bible, or read passages from it online, you will come to find out that the devil was an angel who was jealous of God's power and wanted to over rule God. God let the devil have his own kingdom but was forever seperated from God. The devil has powers just as God does.

Here is the end of the world.. starting with the Tribulation-- There are 4 seals in the Tribulation.

First seal-There is going to be a man riding on a white horse. He is going to be a very handsome, strong political figure that everyone will love. He is going to end all wars and suffering. However, he is the anti-christ.

Second seal- The second rider, on a red horse symbolizes war. There will be a war over the Holy Lands. The fighters are going to try to take out God's chosen people of Israel.

Third Seal- Famine. A rider on a black horse will come. He is the symbol for famine. Millions of people world wide will die of starvation.

Fourth seal- The rider will be coming on a pale colored horse. This symbolizes plagues and death.

Then comes the seven years of peace around the world.

Then is the second coming of Christ. He will come down to earth to begin judgement. All of his followers are going to just dissapear in midday and go up to heaven to forever live up there. The rest have the choice to become born again christians and Christ will come down again for a second judgement. The rest are left with the anti-christ which they will spend eternity in hell.

God's not torturing anyone. They all brought this on themselves [just like people ask "why would God let someone suffer from alcoholism?".. he didn't, they brought that on themselves]. The people that will be "left behind" are the ones who never believed in God [never had him as their Savior].. do you think he WANTS to torture them? No, but they DID have a choice.. they could have accepted him as their savior, but they didn't.

& he could make everything dissappear in a second, but why? He wants it all to go. He's done such an amazing job creating this, creating us, but no one seems to care.. no one seems to notice that all he wanted from us was us to love him. Do you think he's happy about us not giving him the love he deserves? I don't think so. So, why should he be merciful when it comes down to this? He's given us enough mercy, enough grace, enough love.. he's given us everything and some people just throw it away. He's been holding this inside.. giving us chance after chance and he's not going to hold it in much longer.. God's wrath is not going to be something to mess with.

About why he wants the world to end... in the beginning, as you know, it started out with Adam and Eve. They sinned.. & he destroyed the world with a flood. Man's sin continues, as you know [and yes, Christians DO sin, but they repent and TRY very very hard not to do it again], and God doesn't want that. So, why not just end the world? In the end you will either be in Heaven or in Hell [which, if you've ever been to Hell House, is the scariest place you could ever go].

I'm sorry if that was all confusing. If you want to talk about this more than just go to my advice column and get my IM name and IM me. ;D

well, to tell you the truth- it more thn likely will happen in your lifetime. the last book of the bible- revelations tells of al the things to come before the 'world ends'. there has already been world wars, and natural disasters to be a sign of tribulation. God is not here to make everything in life feel good, or to make us not suffer. he gives us that option- by saving ourselves, and living life the way god intended it- but if youre not where you should be spiritually- when god comes, then it states that you will burn in the lake of fire for the rest of eternity. and, if you ARE living the way you should be- then God will take you up into the heavens and you will live an eternity of happiness. its all a matter of getting where you need to be for God.

According to the book of Revelation, the world will end in quite suddenly, but yet not so sudden as to be in a snap of a finger, but rather the process a while.

According to revelation, there are several "seals" that are opened one by one by the living creatures circling God's throne. Each seal contains a calamity and releases one figure that will play some kind of key role in the coming end times. Such as Death and the souls of all who had died beforehand in testament to God's word. The times will be terrible, and the people of the earth will hide in dark places, wishing not to be seen.

Following this, the trumpets of the Lord will be sounded one by one by an angel, and to each trumpet, even more calamity will come. Darkness, the lack of death, bitter water, and the destroying of a portion of mankind follow. There are 6 trumpets and 6 angels, each reaving calamity on mankind.

I could go on about how much more it goes into detail, but the book is long, and I highlighted 2 of the major events that foreshadow the coming of the end. Now, alot of this is figurativly speaking and may not necessarily be in chronological order, but it paints a clear description of the end times. They will be very nasty for those who do not repent and turn to God. I personally believe that the calamitys are trials by God to let everyone repent and show that comfort is in him. Someones people need a very hard nudge to get the idea of things. In the end, God leaves the earth with everyone who followed him and accepted him. The rest of humanity, I believe, is left on the remnant of earth, which becomes the hell everyone who doesn't repent goes to.

Now, that is religious idea of end times. I believe it will happen that way, but if you aren't as faithful to the events in the bible, other people have said the world can end in various ways. We could expierence a global climate shift that could very well kill off life on the earth. It has happened before, and it can happen again. Or you could believe the "asteroid impact" end of the world scenario, in which we are all killed by a huge impact from a asteroid.

Believe what you wish. I personally believe the Bible, but that might not be your belief. God will choose his time when the world will end. He does it because all evil has to end, and it is at his time and choosing when it does happen. We don't know when, all we know is that we, right now, are in the end times, all it has to do now is come.

I hope I helped, it is a confusing kind of subject, so I hope I didn't confuse you more.

-Ryan

i think that when or if the world comes to an end very many years from now, it will happen slowly. it won't just be all one second, happy & smiles, and the next going up in flames and blowing up sending pedestrians into orbit. it'll go slowly. if i'm not mistaken it may take a few years. you know, it may start off getting really warm, and trees fall down left & right. and after a while the less trees the less oxygen. maybe there'll be plate movements because of the warmth and many earthquakes. i could go on, but honestly i don't think it will be one abrubt thing of mass destruction. god may not want it to end in a horrible way, but is there a good way to end earth. no, not really. so when or if it happens in a while, it will be a bad thing. no one really knows when or how the earth will go. but with everything we're doing to the earth it will happen sooner or later. just don't worry about the whole earth flaming up and falling out of orbit and getting sucked into a black hole and getting sucked into infinite time & space.

If you beleive in the Bible then the Bible tells us that the world as in the earth will never end.

However the Bible sometimes uses the word world to refer to human society. The Bible shows that part of human society will end. That is the part controlled by Satan.

However Gods purpose to to bring the earth back to how he originally planned it. No human governments but a direct rulership by him, with no death or sickness, or wars or deserters, but a pecafull community of humans living in perfect harmony under his rule.

That time is not spelt out as to exactly when it will occure but we are given signs to watch out for.

It would appear that the time we are now living in is what the Bible terms the "time of the end" when the "system" as we now know it will soon end, and a theocratic order will replace it.
