Mackenzie answered Sunday May 28 2006, 6:07 pm: The best thing I can suggest would be doing some work at a library or animal hospital - though they may see that as volunteer work and you wouldn't be paid. Or they at least would make you work there a good six weeks before putting your name down on the payroll. Also, you should check with any little local antique stores or Mom & Pop pizza houses, small locally owned stores that aren't a chain. Fast food you couldn't do. I know the youngest they hire would be Wendy's and Subway at 15. And I don't think there would be any way you could weasel a job there, because during the summer every teenager wants a job, so why would they illegally hire a 15 year old when a million 17 year olds have applied, right?
Aside from that, there's babysitting. Try making a bunch of fliers and distributing them on the bullentin boards at your closest couple of grocery stores; free advcertising - that's what it's there for. However, baby sitting is a serious matter. Make sure you know exactly how to perform CPR on infants and toddlers in case of emergency, and once that is all settled, you can add that to your resume. Call them crazy, but parents are more likely to give you their business if they feel their child will be safe with you. You might be able to consider selling things on EBAY. Also, lawn mowing! BIG money to be had there; generally $10.00 - $45.00 per GOOD sized yard. See, there's options. None you might not be too thrilled with, but no one really likes to work... sbloemeke answered Friday May 26 2006, 11:54 am: Generally, fast food places are the best place to try... Most wait until you are 16 to really start hiring. I am not positive, but I THINK a few clothing stores may also hire you part time...

CiNdYLoUwHoO answered Thursday May 25 2006, 9:14 pm: Go to your local park district. Ask if their is anything you can do (guess services, concessions at a pool, ect.). It might be too late but it's worth a shot. Also try a grocery store. I'm not sure what the age requirements are, but maybe you can be like someone who bags the food. Also, you might want to get a workers permit. That will widen your opportunities of getting a job. (it allows people to hire people under the legal working age). If there's no chance in any of those, babysit. Put up flyers, and give your name out. If none of these work, don't feel let down. Enjoy your summer! After all it is summer. Eventually you'll have to get a job, enjoy not having any commitments while it lasts. Hope this hleps and good luck with your job search.
