my heighth
I am 14/f and i'm 5'6" I hate being tall so much. I'm going to grow more and i bet I'll end up like really tall. I don't really knwo for sure, but to me most of the pretty people are short. i am so self concious about it!! I wish i could be 5'4" and stay that way for ever. I think about it every day and it makes me really sad. How can i get over this. i'll rate high

i'm 14 & 5'5". theres soo many advantages of being tall..you'll be fineee. plus the taller you are, the more model potential youu haveee .. hahaa yeaaaahhhh :}

hey- that's nothing!! I have a friend in seventh grade that's 5'9!!! What she does is hang out with older people [[especially guys ;)]] and she has a great time. So don't think of it as a disadvantage. It's seriuosly a good thing! Hope I helped =]

Ok well i used to always hate being tall...but I realized it has atvantages
1) It's eaiser for tall people to be heavy but not look fat
2) Long legs are a GOOD thing
3) People always ask you if you're going to be a model (even though I woulden't..it's nice!)
4) you can see over things
5) You can reach things
Well i hope you get the idea, because I could go on forever.
Also, I know it's annoying when people say, "Oh my gosh! You're so tall!" but eventually they will catch up with you and you won't stand out.
So, if I haven't made you feel any better and you still want to be short...this I hope this is a comfort...you sound really short to me!!!

Ahh! i felt the EXACT SAME WAY as you! im 15 and im 5'6".I used to care sooo much about it because i was pretty tall and i didnt like it.Once you get into high school things change.There are ALOT of tall people in high school because of them being older.Do you know how many people would KILL to be your height?! like what kev said (careless-fun) guys think its a huge turn on when girls are tall,some of them like that since some guys are like 6 foot and they have a girl thats 5'6" so their not too short for them to like kiss and hug you know? lol plus we have many advantages like getting things from high places,looking pretty great in skirts and shorts because we have long legs and there are tons more! Seriosuly being tall isnt that bad and eventually youll get over it 14 is when your going through alot of akward changes physically and mentally jsut dont focus on your height anymore and focus on more important and fun stuff.I mean think about it models are like 6 foot and like 5'10" now how do you think they felt in school? probably the same as you and look how being tall turned out for them? there making alot of money and becoming famous all over the world.So please dont worry about being tall its not a big deal at all i love being tall now! and i promise youll eventually will learn to love being tall too,plus everyelse is still growing so eventually they'll be aroudn your height as well ; ]

You will probably grow more but most people that are shorter than you will grow to they just aint growing as fast as you.. just think about that and you shouldn't be self concious about it anymore

youve just got to realise that you cant change it and thats just the way it is. tall people wanna be short, short people want to be tall--no ones ever satistfied. you have to be confident and proud of being tall! and nooooo just because some people are pretty who are short are just pretty, not becuase they are short! that doesnt matter..but what you ahve to do is just think of all the possitive stuff about being tall..make a list if you ahve to! then maybe you will see taht there are several advantages to being tall. if you want to you can write the disadvantages of being short if that makes you feel better too. jsut keep your head held up high and be proud of being tall!!
ps..if it helps, most models are tall...no one likes short models for some reason!!

I completely understand where you are coming from. When I was younger I was always the tallest and I hated it. In class pictures I was always up on the top row while my friends were down below. And when I was your age my date/boyfriend was so much shorter than me it was ridiculous. I hated it. My solution was to never wear heals. I wore all flats for many years. But eventually the boys your age will grow and they will be taller than you (I am now dating a guy that is 6'3'' and much like you I am 5'6'') Plus, some of your friends will grow and will be the same height as you. Or even taller. When you are young there is always something for you to dislike about yourself. And right now it may seem impossible. But I promise there will come a time when you are comfterable in your own skin. For now, try not to focus so much on it, I know that is much easier said than done. But focus on other things if you can. And hang in there. It will get better.

I have a friend who is 5'10 and she is only 15. I am 5"8 and three quaters. 5"6 isn't that tall for a 14 year old girl. Tall people want to be short and short people long to be tall. Being tall (or short for that matter) doesn't have to be a setback for you. It all in how you carry it. If you accept the fact that you are tall and display it with pride and grace then it will work to your advantage. Many girls who are taller slouch and try to make themselves look shorter, this makes them look self-concious. Confidence is attractive, no matter what your height. You can't control or change your height. I have never met a woman who doesn't dislike something about her physical appearence. For you its your height. All you can really do is realize that there is beauty in your height. You can make it work if you are confident. I hope that you feel better about your height and yourself. Don't let what you can't change bring you down. You have beauty within yourself, you just have to find it. Hope I helped.

wow, i would give anything to be tall. ANYTHING. honestly - when you get older you will blend in just fine. most guys are attracted to tall girls anyway. so you deffinitally shouldnt be complaining. and if you are now - you wont be in the future. you should be proud to be tall.. not self concious about it. be proud of who you are.

you dont wanna be short lol im only 5'2 and i hate it i mean your thinner when your taller and when your shorter you cant do a lot of stuff and look at models, there all tall, not short so keep your head up and think of it like that :)

hey dont worry, tall people are awsome. trust me you dont want to be short, im 5'2 and it sucks. you can do basketball, dance, track, anything, being tall is an advantage! plus you will feel better when your older and the guys get taller, then you will be shorter than them again! dont worry!

I think tall girls are hot. So you shouldn't worry about it. Being tall is a big turn on for some guys. With time you will grow.

Goodness! Just wait until you're a little older, you'll like being your height. A lot of guys like taller girls and all the short girls want to be around your height. I don't know about over there, but at my high school most of the girls that the guys usually like are the taller ones. Although you can still grow until you're about 18-21, most girls stop around 15-16. We can't pick how we look, but we can learn to accept it. Believe me, you'll grow out of feeling this way.
