anger problems i think i have anger problems... yesterday, i got mad at my parents and i dug my nails into the palm of my left hand until it bled. now there is a huge chunk of skin out of my left hand. I am a cutter. I cut when i get depressed. any idea of what to do when i get mad other than drawing blood? i dont want to go see a doctor... because my parents dont think i have problems.

ok listen you do have a problem but its okay.. because i have had the same but now to deal with it i close my eyes think of gripping a knife and make the motions of cutting it gives me an adrenaline rush wich is what i got out of cutting but it doesnt leave any scars ♥ ]
I suggest exercising. When you exercise, it releases the same chemicals (endorphins) in your brain as self-injury does. It will help you a lot, trust me. I finally stopped cutting and when I run and/or exercise, I feel great and relieved of stress.

You should find something you can do to get rid of all your stress that is healthy. some people scream into pillows or punch them..its actually normal and healthy to do those things...when i get mad i like to run or write..just find a healthy outlet to release all your stress & about your parents i think you should really sit them down and talk about it if that doesnt work you can always talk to a counselor at school or someone like that. ]
Instead of cutting yourself, cut or rip pieces of paper. That's what I do when I get pissed off.
I just get a stack of computer paper & start cutting it up, or if I can't find scissors fast enough I rip it up with my hands. Just pretend the paper you're cutting up is the person you are mad at.
It seems stupid, but it really releases stress. & it's what my doctor recommended.
Don't say it's stupid until you've used it in the right situation. Because I sware to god, it works. ]
when you start to get mad, take deep breaths and you can talk to someone you trust and that may calm you down. if you dont want to talk to anyone, then try somethnig that would make you happy or calm you down. you could watch your favorite movie or tv show, listen to music, or even go for a walk. good luck! ]
i used to dig my nails into my palms aswell, and eventually started cutting. this went on for nearly two years.
i found stress balls to be a big help. dig your nails into this instead of your own skin.
another one is pens or pencils. rather than cutting, try drawing on your skin where you'd like to cut, or pressing your pen into the paper until it breaks through.
i found it very relieving. i know it's dificult but i hope you can do the same. feel free to email me if you'd like to discuss it further, i always found speaking to other cutters to be a big help.

Don't use the excuse of your parents not thinking you have a problem to not go see a doctor or go into therapy.
If your parents don't know you are having an anger problem, tell them. You really do have some issues to work through if you are self-destructing and your parents will have to know eventually.
I would give you some skills to deal with your anger, but it's more than that if you are at the point of bleeding. Just sit down with your parents, and let them know that you have a huge problem with dealing with anger.

an easy way to let your aggression out when your mad is talking to people about what your mad about, sometimes it helps. even if its not a doctor but a trustworthy friend :)
if you dont like that then take it out without hurting yourself by maybe punching your pillows or doing something like that
