I am 14 years old and haven't gotten my period yet. I am pretty sure all of my firends have gotten it by now. I am also one of the oldest out of my firends (cuz i was born in 91 and everyone else born in 92 but whatever) I play 3 sports and i am wondering of something is wrong with me? My mom got it when she was 16 but my sister got it when she was 11.

omgitsjaimee answered Thursday April 27 2006, 3:38 pm: most likely, nothing is wrong. You'll probably get it around the same time as your mom did. Also, being real athletic sometimes delays your period, even if you've already started.

beankitty answered Thursday April 27 2006, 3:02 pm: Congratulations on not having it... because once you get it you will wish something was wrong with you that you didn't have to have it. It's probably the most annoying shit ever.
Don't worry, dear. Playing sports will do that to you. If you weren't as active, you'd have gotten your period by now. The more active you are the longer it takes. So... you're fine. [ beankitty's advice column | Ask beankitty A Question ]
SASSIE answered Thursday April 27 2006, 1:16 pm: You will get your period when you body is ready. We all start at different ages as you know from you family history. Getting your period is a milestone and it is a major deal but dont try to rush it. I love having my period because it tells me that everything is okay. But some days it can get annoying. So just relax and have fun.
rainbowcherrie answered Thursday April 27 2006, 12:39 pm: I really wouldn't worry about it. Different people get their periods at different time, usually you can judge when you will start based on your family but that is not always the case. I started when I was only 11, but I know people as old as 17 who haven't started yet. It really just depends on the person. The fact that you do a lot of sport could be affecting it but it doesn't really cause a problem unless you plan on getting pregnant, and I'm guessing that you don't. If you're still concerned then I suggest you seek reassurance from your doctor.
