Igotamonopoly answered Tuesday April 25 2006, 12:27 am: My room is incredibly colorful and happy. My friends even say so.
Pick a focal point for your room. Mine is my bed. This is where the largest concentration of color should be. I have bright, sky blue walls. My bed has a hot pink comforter. I also have a blue shag carpet. If there is any way possible to get carpet, then you should get it. Also, you want seating in your room-mine is a windowseat.
I have pictures//autographs//posters all over my room to truly make it my room.
to_the_rescuex3 answered Monday April 24 2006, 8:00 pm: There is a lot of easy things you can do to make your room a better place! Here are some tips on how to do just that:
1. Find some cute, colorful picture frames and put pictures of things you feel passionate about--friends, family, pets...you name it.
2. You can get different colored lights at stores and use them to give your room a funky glow.
3. Have you ever seen those cute feather boas? Buy them and put them along the dresser, or other random places in your room. It adds a lot of color.
4. Buy a corkboard. Here, you can put movie stubs, concert tickets, awards you have won--even some of your favorite pictures. It's a great way to reflect on past memories.
5. Hang posters of your favorite celebrities on the walls. You can get small ones from magazines, or large ones from CD stores or places like Target and K-mart. It's really nice to wake up in the morning staring into Ashton Kutcher's eyes!
6. Get some fun, colorful pillows and put them on your bed. It really adds color and flair to the room.
7. Since your room has hardwood flooring, buy a colorful shag rug. Not only is it nice to look at, it's really nice to walk on in bare feet.
Sorry that my advice was so long! But these are just a few of the many things you can do to make your room more fun. Don't be scared to think up more things and add your own touch. You'll be spending every minute in your room in no time! [ to_the_rescuex3's advice column | Ask to_the_rescuex3 A Question ]
CavieOwnsU2 answered Monday April 24 2006, 7:50 pm: What do you love? Is it your cat, dog, horse, friends? Do you absolutely love Broadway or skate boarding? Do you have alot of ribbons or trophies?
Here's what I did to spruce my room up...
1. Hung pictures of my horses in a cool way for those times I can't see them but have to be reminded of the best things in my life.
2. Hung my show ribbons around my walls to remind me that I can do something well enough to earn me them.
3. Cut out posters of horses from magazines and hung them on the oposite wall from the pictures of my horses.
4. Decked out my bullentin board with cool things my friends have given me, letters with inside jokes, funniest birthday cards, and pictures of us hanging out.
You can also get those cool beads for your door, funky lights (lava lambs, etc.), or get a cool bean bag chair.
One of my friends has another friend whose mom loves painting. Together they drew a scene (surfing) on one of her walls and painted it with nice colors. [ CavieOwnsU2's advice column | Ask CavieOwnsU2 A Question ]
mmmmmmm answered Monday April 24 2006, 6:19 pm: you could hang some beads from the door, put a bunch of posters and stickers on your wall... if you can paint your wall, you could paint it checkered or striped!
mystical_breeze answered Monday April 24 2006, 6:03 pm: I'm sure you get catalogues in the mail, check out those. There are probably so many bedroom decorating catologues, and if that doesn't work, go to Walmart. I used Walmart to re-do some of my bedroom, and I found some really cute things. I got a nice bed-spread, carpet, pillows, etc. Ask one of your parents to bring you shopping, and ask them for some help re-decorating.

myusername1 answered Monday April 24 2006, 5:43 pm: it would be cool to pick a theme for your room and go with that. like an ocean theme, or a color scheme. then shop for some on-sale stuff you would like to decorate it with and what looks cool and more lively is if you put posters up or a bulliten board of you and your friends or something creative like taht
hope i helped & good luck [ myusername1's advice column | Ask myusername1 A Question ]
LM answered Monday April 24 2006, 5:26 pm: A brightly patterened area rug (or a new carpet altogether, but that would be a lot more expensive) would probably help a lot. Depending on the shade of blue your walls are, repainting might really help cheer up the room (dark colors typically make a room seem dark and dreary, not to mention smaller). Posters and other pictures/newspaper articles will make the room seem more like "yours" and a new lamp will add a new element to a space you're bored with (I got a really cool one at Home Depot or Lowes and it was only $20!
LondonScene answered Monday April 24 2006, 4:57 pm: I have this book called DIY (do it yourself) By Karen Cooper at one part of the book it says some things about rooms colors. I think if you got probably tanned shaded sort of walls and white borders a pale brown ceiling maybe beige- something like an african kind of setting modern and chic. Would go lovely with your floor. :) <3 [ LondonScene's advice column | Ask LondonScene A Question ]
