Getting rid of mice I'm a bit of a slob, and while re-organizing my closet (aka picking my clothes up off the floor), I found a whole lot of mouse poop. I don't really keep food in my room, and when I do eat in my room, it's not in the closet.
So how do I get rid of the mice? I keep my clothes in this area, so I'd rather not use strong chemicals. I also don't want to be picking up dead mice. So what's the most humane, safest way to get rid of them?

Fist try finding out how the little buggers got in and cover the hole. If you're not into killing them, you can get a type of device at the store that sends out certain frequencies of sound which mice just love to hate. That should keep the mice away somewhat if you're not up for killing the little fuzzballs outright. If you have a small pet, like a hampster or something, I would recomend checking if this "sonic mouse repeller" would bother it before you turn it on. ]
Use a live mouse trap. Once you catch a mouse take it way out in the country and let it go! No mess, no poison and very effective!
You should look for holes where the mice are coming in the house and plug them up with steel wool. By the way, they can flatten their body and get into a very small hole..even smaller than a dime! ]
lock your cat in the closet [= ]
Well I know they have this sort of poison. When the mice eat the poison they go outside of the house to eat something to drink and when they get sometingto drink out side the ...well...er explode. Lovely to think about? But at least they arent in your closet. ]
you can get a mouse trap and put your clothes in a different area for now until the mouse gets trapped.. if you dont want the blood to get around the area just put newpaper under the trap and just put a little food on the trap so then itll get caught! good luck! ]
One of my friends just had mice, and he had lots and lots of mice in his house in the countryside. The experience taught me two things:
1. Despite the fact that I am huge, hairy, and angry looking, I still jump like a girl when they run across the floor
2. They can be really persistent and hard to get rid of
Going on with 2, plugging up the hole is a good idea. However its important that you plug it up right. My friend was advised by exterminators to use ground glass in the mixture (I will check with him and edit this if I remember wrong). This is to prevent them from chewing back in.
He also used special mouse poison... which they ate happily and never died from. And I mean they ate a few bottles of the stuff.
Traps work well, but you will be picking up dead mice. Im afraid that, short of buying a cat (which is by no means a guarentee of success), you will have to resort to a method that leaves carcasses around. Traps are also better than poison because they die next to the trap.
Overall though, consider hiring a professional. It will cost, but it will be faster and more effective. ]
you could try to find how the mice are getting into your room (which is most likely a hole in the wall) and you could cover it up.

oh thats easy! just buy a mouse trap and put some cheese on it or whatever and then the mouse get trapped in there! all you have to do then is free the mouse outside! then the mouse is still alive and you dont have them in your house anymore! trust me it works! i once had about 3 mice and i did it the same way! :-D by the way there really cute :-) well good luck ]
