I just got a great new boyfriend. But I'm totally afraid to kiss him because I've never kissed anyone before and everyone's like you'll know how to do and stuff but srsly, I don't know if I go on the top lip, bottom lip, what? I'm so confused. And also, how can I not have bad breath while making out with him? It seems no matter how hard I brush my teeth and stuff I always seem to have bad breath!!! Gum solves the problem but i cant have gum when I make out. Please help, thanks. Love, Chels.

ok, if your boyfriend is great (which im sure he is :]) he'll understand, if you tell him you've never kissed before :]
also, being out in the open makes you more comfortable.
although everyone already said it, it really does come naturally.
plus, if hes done it before, he'll just take the lead :]
my boyfriend taught me, that you really CAN have gum when your kissing. just make sure its sugar free (sugar makes your breath worse, even if its mint)
me and my boyfriend actually always have gum when we kiss.
it just seems to find its way to the back of your mouth, so it doesnt get in the way, and you totally forget its there.
and i think someone already said it, but we play a "game" i guess you could call it.
and we pass our gum back and forth.

First kisses are ALWAYS scary so don't worry, this is totally normal.
I know it's a cliche and not really what you want to hear right now but when it comes to kissing a guy you really like, it all comes very naturally. Wait until he goes in for the kiss and tilt your head the opposite way to his. The first part of the kiss normally lands on both lips at once and from there it kind of....gets better, I guess would be the best way to describe it. Once you get into it, it's really very easy. Follow his lead. When he opens his mouth a little or moves away slightly, do the same.
However, the truth is, when you actually kiss this guy, none of what anyone says will matter because you won't remember any of it. A good kiss can make us forget pretty much everything and make the world go blurry. It doesn't matter how you do it because it REALLY IS all very natural and it will just fit.
As for the problems with your breath, make sure that on the day you think you'll kiss, before you go out you give your teeth a good brush (brush your tongue too, as bacteria on the tongue is the most common cause of bad breath), use a good mouthwash and floss your teeth. If you still find you have problems with your breath, see your dentist to make sure you don't suffer from halitosis (a condition in the mouth which causes bad breath).
Most of all, make sure you relax. You need to relax into a kiss or it will all be too wooden. Remember you're not doing it to make him like you. He wouldn't be going out with you unless he already liked you. You're just kissing him as a way to connect on a deeper level and show your feelings physically. SO take a deep breath, relax and the rest will just happen.

You don't have to know how to kiss when you really want to it will just happen. Sure I've kissed a guy before but the first time I kissed my boyfriend it totally knocked my socks off and he told me he's never kissed anyone before. Look at it from a different perspective you won't be an expert at it right away. Think positive let him teach you what he likes in a kiss and remember every guy is different.

never gum! gum makes your glands make saliva and that makes bad breath! chewing gum is just a temorary thing that makes it worse... use mints! the reason you may have bad breath could be reflux. talk to a doctor about it... they may can give you a pill that will make it stop. anyway back to kissing. normally the girl kisses his top lip but some guys do it differently. just go with the flow. when it happens it just happens. tell him that you want to kiss him but youve never done it before and if hes never kissed before either then you get to learn together. (sorry hehe) and if he has kissed then im sure hell help yah out!

Hey, Don't worry yourself about it too much, just relax and go with the flow. Just follow your boyfriends lead, watch which way he puts his head and go the other way!
You can still have Gum whilst making out no problems just make sure you keep it to one side. Perhaps havin gum could be a good thing? like games you know? Or just take the gum out before you make out.

hey girly. i was in the same sistution as you about a year ago. we the hell told you you cant make out with someone when you got gum in your mouth. You CAN make out with someone when you have gum in your mouth. relax when you kiss it will come naturally. seriously. no game. i was probably as neverous maybe even more then you are when i first got my boyfriend. a few tips;
dont put to much tongue it will feel werid.
make sure to swallow to much saliva is nasty.

Pucker up and press your lips against his. Open your lips slightly and maybe he will lead. If his tongue slips in your mouth, let his tongue wander and then touch your tongue with his. Have an altoid before you make out. You can have gum while you make out. :] Just make sure you hold onto it. It could be fun too, he might try to steal the gum XD or you could just share. :o
