It could be cancerous.
I suggest she has it checked out by a doctor asap. And they will remove it.

It's not necessarily going to kill her because it has fallen off but she should see her doctor.

Malignant melanomas (cancerous skin moles) tend to be raised, hairless, itchy or tender and they tend to crack and bleed. If this sounds similar to what is happening to your mum, it may be best she see a doctor, just to be on the safe side.

However, I want to also let you know that although these are symptoms of skin cancer, it does not mean she definitely has it if she has a few of the symptoms, so PLEASE don't panic. Chances are, if your Mum thought something was very wrong, she would see someone about it.

For more information on skin cancer, try looking at [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

This is a very good website for the information and detailed, with good pictures of what to look out for.

In the meantime, please try not to stress too much. I'm sure your Mum will be fine.

I agree with everyone else. My parents are doctors, and one of the things they always said (and drilled into my head lol) was that whenever you have something weird happening on your skin, get it checked. Its particularly important because (apparently) more or less everything on the skin can be treated successfuly. So ignoring things there is a completely unecessary risk.

First of all, no it doesn't mean she'd going to die. However, she should see a doctor because A change in a mole can be a warning sign for a type of cancer called malignant melanoma. Which, left untreated can be deadly. My Dad had one 10 years ago that turned out to be malignant melanoma. He went to the doctor, it was removed and treated and hes absolutely fine.
She'll be fine if she sees a doctor now.

I think the best thing you can do is go to the doctors as soon as possible. Because it will help you, and it will help your mom in case she does have something.

I hope she is fine..

Changes in moles should always be checked out to be on the safe side. So, she really should get it checked out and removed.

The fact that it is on her stomach could mean though that clothes are rubbing on it and causing it to get sore and irritated.

Play it safe though and tell her to get it looked at by a doctor. You will all feel better just knowing what it is. :)
