It sounds weird but it works.
When you are trying to sleep, mentally visualize a paper bag in your head. Put everything thats worrying you into the paper bag, seal it up, and then put it by your bed. Then immediately think about something else. It really does rid your mind of stressful and worrysome thoughts and ensures a good night sleep.
During the day, take lots of breaks and do something you enjoy. Reading a book is helpful for me, so is listening to music. Playing a video game can help quite a bit too if you're the type. Just anything to get your mind off anything thats stressing you out.
sizzlinmandolin answered Thursday March 9 2006, 3:21 am: Exercise helps a lot. When you exercise, things called endorphis are released in your body. Endorphis are natural stress releivers. I've always found exercise to be the best way to deal with stres in my life. Set time aside every day as "you" time. That will help you too. Do something that you like, watch some TV, write in a journal, read, cook, anything that will help you relax and take your mind off of whatever is stressing you out. Good luck! :) [ sizzlinmandolin's advice column | Ask sizzlinmandolin A Question ]
vilelove answered Thursday March 9 2006, 1:20 am: Hey. I have found that keeping a journal is a GREAT way to relieve stress. Talk freely about what's going on in your life and your feelings. Don't be afraid of sounding mean or too harsh because as soon as you write your feelings down and you 'calm down' you feel better because it will be out of your system. Another thing you can do is extrecise. If you feel more energetic in the morning do it then, however since you usually can't sleep do it a few hours before you plan on going to bed. This will wear you out and you'll get sleepy and release stress. Of course, talkign to your friends always helps, but you probably already know that or have heard it a lot by now. Well bye. One song I suggest is "Everything Burns" by Ben Moody ft. Anastacia. Close your eyes and just picture a scene for that song.
It helps me alot.
Also you can try to take a bubble bath, you can never go wrong with that.
Go out with friends. Have some time for yourself. Do some things you enjoy doing that are relaxing.
amandax33 answered Wednesday March 8 2006, 8:36 pm: I hate stress, So what i do when im stressed out is;I take a break from what ever im doing(if your doing anything) and i take my mind off of EVERYTHING, and listen to music. Music is what i turn to, to calm me down. Or you can take a bubble bath, maybe just watch some TV.
Stress comes and goes, Its easy for it to come but so hard for it to go away. Take things easy and im sure you will feel less stressed.
