You dont want to do to many crunches becasue it can make your muscles really soar and you wont lose any weight that way. You have to bulid up. My frind just joined weight watchers and she has lost about 10 pounds and she just started not to long ago. [ Advicelady6798's advice column | Ask Advicelady6798 A Question ]
BRUNETTE__BABiE__CAKESZ answered Thursday March 2 2006, 2:48 pm: Hey, yep thats true. But i dont think its possible, unless youve been working out for years. I do 100 crunches a day and that kills me. Try do 100 instead of 1000. Eat the right amounts. Skip breakfast, Have like a slice of pizza or nachos for lunch, and have toast for dinner. Also drink diet coke. Cait ♥ [ BRUNETTE__BABiE__CAKESZ's advice column | Ask BRUNETTE__BABiE__CAKESZ A Question ]
oneandonly345 answered Thursday March 2 2006, 2:45 pm: okay. so i dont know abotu that 1,000 crunches a day and yo'll loose a pound, but it does sound liek a lot of pain in your back.
as far as eatting goes, eat right porportions. like dont eat when you arenthungry. and eat good healthy foods. and drink a lot of water. i only did this and lost 3 pounds in one week. itw as amazing. i think water is they key.
then for working out.. just run, crunched, and sstuff like that. maybe if there is a Y or some kind of gym around you, you could join that?
xomegaroni answered Thursday March 2 2006, 1:10 pm: that person is right. by juss doing 1,000 crunches a day helped you losing a lb a day, i'd think a lot less people would be over weight. you have to do a whole bunch of things such as dieting etc. etc. i've lost like 10 lbs in 2 months. i also play basketball but i think my method works pretty good-
-BREAKFAST. this is definately the most important meal of the day. eat.. a lot. healthy stuff of course. if you don't eat breakfast, your body goes into starvation mode & it won't burn off calories. so you either gain weight er stay the same weight. eat things such as cereals, oatmeals, cream of wheat, yogurts, fruits, etc. mix & match those so you have enough. try different juices such as apple juice, orange juice, milk, water, etc. milk is good & you should have about 3 cups a day. also, eating every 3 hrs such as fruits, veggies, crackers, etc. help your metabolism.
-LUNCH. this is more of a 'light meal'. things such as soups, salads, sandwiches, etc. are good.
-DINNER. the whatever meal. you should basically have healthier foods mon-thurs. try things such as a main meat, veggies, & another side dish you like. juss go in porportion & obviously when you're full stop. try not eating after 7-8 pm. fri-sun should be your 'whatever days' for dinner. keep your regular breakfast-lunch schedule but eat more freely for dinner. for me, i can't eat healthy dinners all the time er i get in a bad mood, but if you want to that's definately good.
Alin75 answered Thursday March 2 2006, 12:06 pm: To start off, the 1000 crunches thing is just a waste of time. It might have some effect in the sense that it will burn some calories but it has to be one of the most ineffective ways to try to lose weight.
First of all, you need to exercise. Dont listen to any advice that says you need to do one or two specific exercises. You need to train your entire body. Now, the best thing you can do is join a gym. Doing weights and building some muscle will increase your metabolism, allowing you to burn more calories around the clock.
Aerobics and other cardios are great as well, ideally I would recommend aiming for 3 days with weights and 3 days cardio to start with, if you have the time. If you dont have time to do this, just make sure you include some form of regular exercise in your week (a sport, jogging, whatever). However, if you want the best effects, its off to the gym.
Secondly, and most importantly, you need to take control of your diet. There are a few key tips you need to follow. First eat often. Intake a small balanced meal 4-5 times a day. This will have a great effect on the metabolism. Next, drink loads of water.
When you eat, avoid junk foods, sugar and that sort of thing. Calculate your calorie needs (I have a link for you below) and aim to create a deficit of say 400 cals a day. Eat moderate on carbs and low on saturated fat (the "bad" kind of fat, found in things like butter, fatty meats, cheap oils etc). Make sure you eat plenty of greens as well as a good amount of protein (particularly if you joined a gym).
When you eat, spread your calories relatively evenly over your meals, eating somewhat bigger meals when you are about to be active. In other words, try to eat for what you are about to do, never for what you have just done (often people come home after a workout and eat a large meal).
Eating healthy is a lifestyle change. Dont try to do some sort of intensive diet, its unhealthy and you will put the weight back on. Remember in order to successfully lose weight, and keep it off, you need to eat properly, so dont starve yourself.
There is NO way to lose a pound a day, if anyting at all even comes close to that you are losing muscle or getting dehydrated. No way can fat be burned anywhere near that fast, sorry but this is the truth.
Here are two links, one to a calorie calculator and the other to a site that shows exercises to do at the gym:
Ed: Actually here is another. Its a forum in a bodybuilding site where people share recipes for healthier cooking- often high on protein of course :) You can find some great stuff in there sometimes:
