braces
ok so im getting braces this thursday but before that i need to make a decision whether to get the clear or colored ones. the clear ones are NOT invisilign just to let you know the clear ones are basically the same as the colored ecept they match the color of you teeth. now the thing is with the clear ones if you eat something like chocolate, your braces would turn brown which i dont really want to happen but they say it doesnt happen if you brush your teeth a lot (which i do) but like in school if i have like a chocalate bar or something i cant brush my teeth in school and the other thing is pratically all my friends have the colored ones and i really havent seen many people with the clear ones.
can someone help me figure out what to decide?

I don't know much about the clear ones but it sounds like you shouldn't take a chance with them if they could turn color. Don't be afraid of the colored ones because as you said, everyone has them already.

DUDE! i'm getting them this thursday too!!!! 9 AM BABY! (if this is danielle... omg)but i am DEF choosing the colored ones! i'm really upbeat so i'm getting lime green and hot pink. Be spontanious and not boring!!! and if your cool like me and go to camp, you can get your camp colors for the summer!!!! (BLUE AND GOLD!!!!!) YEAYA! don't be a pooper! GET COLORS!!!! (BRIGHT!:))

get the metal ones.
the other ones make it look as though you have grunge on your teeth.
and with a bit of practice,
you learn to chew with the inside of the teeth, and drinking something after the chocolate makes it disappear.

so do you mean the bands or the accually braces? my friend i got clear braces and i think personally it looks really stupid... like you can still see them and the look weird
now getting the metal ones with the colored bands look alot better and the clear bands get discolored fast and dont clean well!

Definately go with the colored braces, the clear ones are still noticeable, and you can change the colors of the other ones to whatever you want.
remember that no matter which ones you choose, they are jsut braces. They wont be there forever, so dont worry about it too much.

can't decide? well i say go with the colored. i'm not trying to copy all the other ppl. that suggested the same thing, it's just that you'll probably look better with it. if you use clear and you're eating food the food that gets stuck w/in your braces will be very noiticable. in the colored ones it will also be noticable but it'll blend in sooner or later. well personally i would get the colored ones. the clear wants are basically so they arent so noticable but if you do eat something a weird color they are gonna be colored anyways haha. and plus if all of your friends have the colored ones then you dont have to be ashamed having them anyways. but yeah i would say your best bet would be the colored ones =] hope i helped ♥

Definatly get the colored ones. Those are really cute because you can get any colors you want & make them match up. :] But whatever you do, don`t get white color brackets, they make your teeth look yellow..Atleast that`s what I heard.

I vote go for the colored ones. The clear ones may look pretty good at first, but they ARE still noticable, and by a couple of weeks the rubberbands start to turn yellow, and no amount of brushing will fix that. Since you get your bands changed usually every six weeks, you're stuck with yellow braces for 2-3 weeks. Colored ones are what most people have because of the yellowing factor of the "clear" ones, and they're also fun because you can get the colors changed to suit your mood, for what holiday is coming up, to match an outfit you're going to wear to a school dance, anything like that.

definetly get coloured...like me. my cousin has the cleart ones you are talking about and it just looks like there is a bunch of crap/plague on your teeth, it doesnt look any better, and it isnt less noticable. if you dont want that much attention drawn to your mouth, dont get bright coloured bands.
p.s. braces suck, and hurt, buy lots of applesauce + yogurt + pudding!

I say go with the colored ones. When I first was getting my braces I had the same decision to make. If you don't want alot of attention drawn to your mouth then you can just get the rubberbands silver instead of a bright color. That's what I always do.
I also heard that the clear ones take much longer to straighten out your teeth and don't work that well.
